I recently noticed that during an attempt to unclog a stuck toilet that my old fashioned style plunger was no longer able to make a seal around the drainage hole in the toilet bowl. As much as I tried, the old plunger couldn't force any water down the pipe, the water would just flow around the plunger. Bummer! Enter the Korky. The newer, modern, universal shape of the rubber made a great seal and unclogged the toilet with 2-3 pushes. The T shaped handle was super sturdy and gives you way more control over the entire plunging process. The only drawback to this more modern design is the accordion-like portion in the rubber. If you're not careful, the plunger can fold over at this point, but it isn't a big deal. I'd gladly take this small concession in control, for the massive upgrade in effectiveness. The rubber itself feels very sturdy, and should last quite a while. I can't imagine this being damaged or wearing out with normal use. Expect this to be the last plunger that you will be buying. Highly recommended. PROS: + String sturdy rubber, with the more modern shape to universally fit any toilet. + T shaped handle for more controll + Powerful, probably due to the massive size of the plunger + Cost effective, lesser models were twice as costly at home improvement stores! CONS: - The accordion like rubber portion sometimes allows the plunger to fold over itself. ... show more

My old plunger, which was a typical half sphere rubber plunger, didn't really work. In fact it would take me half a day to unplug my toilet, for taking breaks in-between working on it, and hoping that somehow the water would soften the plug up over time. I did some looking into it and found out that the reason it wasn't working was because of the shape of our toilet. I looked and looked and did some video watching and blog reading....etc....found this guy. Never in my life, even with toilets that fit the old style plungers, have I ever pushed only ONCE on a plunger and like magic it was unclogged. I haven't even had time to decide if I liked the handle yet because It takes so little effort to unplug my toilet now. This is almost the best thing I've bought all year, and I'm saying that about a toilet plunger. I don't even have to get annoyed or pissed off now when other people in the house just leave their clogs without saying anything. First of all because other people are more inclined to take care of it themselves now that the plunger actually works, and secondly because it will only take a moment of my time and zero effort to deal with it. The stand it comes with is nice as it can be turned around so it looks nicer when its not being used. But it is a little bit of a trick to get the plunger in and out as that side could have been opened up a bit more. Combined with a spray bottle to spray down the inside of the toilet ( because poop chunks on brushes are just disgusting ), this plunger means that guests don't have to be embarrassed anymore about being human. ... show more

    • Works like a charm with Kohler brand rectangular hole design!

We tried most other options here under $30 - Nothing else worked because the rectangular design of our Kohler toilets foiled and confounded the ability of the plunging device to seal. Many reviews on the other plungers stated they worked with rectangular design but every one we bought and tried immediately failed. This plunger, on the other hand, works quickly with great power and strength. It has never failed - reliably working with 3 or less push/pull (fill/plunge), and you can feel that the water is flowing far into the pipe. With great power, though, comes great responsibility. If you don't know how to properly manipulate the liquid (and other material) ball of POWER that you have, with a mere push, converted your plunger into then bad (and wet) things might be very well coming your way. In other words, an extreme clog may backfire. In such cases, the pro move is to use a suction approach instead of pushing - forcing liquid into a block. In all cases, the crucial first step is to create the seal. You can actually fill the bulb with water (or whatever is down there) by compressing it beside the hole and then creating the seal by positioning it against the hole. Such an approach is useful if the clog is very near hole, because the power of this plunger is that you can fill it with water and then force the water out, and suction it back in - given that you have a solid seal. Some reviewers have negatively reported that the bulb portion was incapable of the proper flexibility to make a seal. If yours is like that and you don't know how to improve the flexibility of the rubber, I highly recommend exchanging - something is wrong with that specific item and if you get a proper one, things will be happy in your home. Also, a reviewer recommended using a cheap self watering plant base (available here on Amazon) as a holder and it's brilliant. Highly recommended. To round things out, I'd recommend a toilet brush with a cute little housing, so that you can clean off the plunger should it need it before returning it to it's home holder. And if the plunger needs cleaning, it's likely the toilet bowl will need a quick brushing as well. With the Beehive Max, you can once again fearlessly and victoriously be the unquestioned master of your bathroom. ... show more
