My wife makes decorated cookies. It is messy when bags burst, especially if she’s spinning it to get air out. She likes the thickness of the bag, but these are more difficult to get out because of the attached seam. They need to be removed from each other.

The quality of these piping bags feel nice and thicker, making them less likely to break. The box and dispensing feature it nice to have, but it’s not the easiest to rip the bags apart from each other. There’s a perforated line where you separate each bag, but I ripped the first one trying to get it apart, making it unusable. Maybe I just need some practice though. Overall, I like the quality of the bags but I wish each of the bags were already separated. ... show more

A roll of piping bags in a box sounds amazing...in theory. But tearing them apart is hard, and I have ripped a few. The seam sticks out from every bag so since I dont use piping tips on my cookies I have to cut that piece away. They seem strong but ive had one burst after filling it. Ok, I admit I’m not a cake decorator. But I have used a piping bag before and with the holiday season coming up I thought these would be fun to have to decorate cookies and maybe even try my hand on a simple cake. But I found another use for these bags, to stuff manicotti. They actually worked really great because the filling was thicker than any whipped cream or frosting and the bag held together like a champ. My only issue, and the reason for removing a star, is the packaging. I do appreciate that they come on a roll, they take up very little room in your cabinet, as much as a small package of sandwich bags. But they are all attached together on that roll, so you must take care when separating them along the perforated lines, particularly near the tip. I suggest using scissors. But other than that caveat, I can wholeheartedly recommend these. For what it’s worth from a non cake decorator lol. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. These piping bags are good for my cookie decorating projects. They are thick and leakproof. The one challenge in using them is, however, getting them to separate before using them. The bags come out flat in rectangles that have a serrated, diagonal line running through the middle, making two triangles that must be separated and opened into cones. The first two times I tried to separate the bags, one of the triangles ripped and became unusable. I finally realized that to separate the triangles, you can't pull the triangles away from each other. Rather, you need to rip like a piece of paper, with one hand pulling a triangle toward you and the other hand pulling the opposite triangle away from you. No ripping of the bags when you separate the triangles that way. It takes some skill. Once they are separated, the bags work great. I found that it's best to stuff them into a narrow glass and open them, folding the wide part over the rim of the glass so that you don't make a huge mess filling them. You can cut a wide slice from the pointy end to insert a decorating tip, or you can cut off just the tip for line decorating. They hold up well and there is no clean-up afterward. You just throw the thing away. If you're using a decorating tip, I found that clean-up is easiest if you snip off the end of the bag a little above the tip and squeeze the tip out of the cut-off end rather than trying to fish out the tip from the whole, messy bag when you're through. ... show more

These piping bags were a really good value for the price. I used them for a macaron order I had to make. They held up really well to pressure when I was squeezing the bag. However they have this seem that made it awkward to cut the bag for using with different tips. If it wasn't for that weird little seam, these would have been 5 stars. I have ordered a lot of piping bags over the years and honestly I'm usually when I order from amazon I'm pretty disappointed. Usually the bags that I order are super thin and when I get down to the last bit and grab my scraper to scrape all of my frosting down to the end, my plastic scraper will cut the bag open and I'm left with a huge mess on my counter. These piping bags are quite thick and I don't have that problem. The only issue that I see is that you have to rip on a perforated line, each piping bag and if you're in a hurry you can rip unevenly and rip a bag. ... show more
