So my original mirror became loose (pressure nut came undone), tried to fix it myself as seen on YouTube but it was NOT as easy as they said, takes more pressure to push down the nut onto the spring. A friend said to go to the junk yard and buy used. I just purchased it online which was about the same cost as a used and saved time of getting cold rummaging thru a car graveyard looking for the correct part. Item arrived quick... Looks exactly like the OEM, came with the gloss black finish cap. The cap must be made of a softer material, it was easily scratched just by laying it on the kitchen counter. The edge cut on the mirror is not as clean as the OEM.... The mounting bracket is plastic versus metal in the OEM. Fit is guaranteed but there is a white plastic mounting clip that had to be carefully removed from the OEM and placed in this after market mirror. for $40 versus dealers $140, I'll try it for a while to see if I can live without the auto-dimming. ... show more

    • Looks identical but built cheaply.
I bought this for my 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. The glass was cracked on my original mirror and it was going to be cheaper just to buy this whole assembly since the mirror had electrical connections for power and heater. Installation took 10 minutes and was super easy. However, driving on the road the mirror vibrated and shook like crazy. All the bolts were tight. My other mirrors were fine. It was a cheap connection between the mirror and the plastic housing the made it rattle too much to focus on what was in the mirror. I ended up taking out the mirror from the new housing and installing it back into the original housing. Now it is perfect with no shakes. I pitched the new houseing that I bought. ... show more
