I was nervous to order a dress online. This dress exceeds my expectations. The Bodice is fully lined. The sleeves and skirt portions are a single layer of fabric. The fabric is good quality and not see-through. If you hold the fabric up to the light, some light comes through a single layer, but it is totally black on the double-layered bodice portion. I think you could get away from wearing a slip underneath the dress, but it also might not hurt. I own one, so I will probably go ahead and wear my half-slip. The fit is amazing. I am 5 ft 9 inches tall. The dress goes below my ankles, almost to the floor. The sleeves are a tiny bit short on my arms, but not enough to worry about, I don't mind pushing up the sleeves a bit to make them look like 3/4 sleeves. They are long enough, though. I have a size A bust. There is definitely room up on top, but it doesn't look too baggy since I can just pull the dress down a bit. I had 9 children, and I am in my early 40's, so I haven't been able to loose all that baby weight, and I kind of have a tummy. I was worried this dress would make me look pregnant, but I don't think it does. I'll be wearing nylons under it, to help push in my tummy, anyway. It helps that the dress is black. I'm 5'8 180 pounds and I ordered a large. It's snug on top but I'm a 36B. It's floor length and flowy and falls beautifully. If you are bigger up top and not as tall this might not work for you, although you could go up a size. I chose the pink, the color is ok.
