I'd been wanting this exact model for my home office for a while now. Amazon had the best price, so I pulled the trigger. It came in multiple boxes and I didn't get everything at first. More of a delivery company issue rather than an Amazon or Kodiak issue. The customer service at Kodiak was excellent, and they sent missing items quickly without a lot of back and forth. I was able to assemble it alone, although most will need a second person to lift the inner assembly onto the frame. You want to give yourself some space to lay out the parts. I assembled it in the room you see here. Not huge, but I made it through. It was pretty easy to put together. Pro-tip: Watch the video on the manufacturers website and where it says "don't tighten the bolts all the way at first"....listen. Don't. Once it was put together it was beautiful. Very well-made. Heavy. Sturdy. I love the blue! I slept on it in couch mode the first night and slept well. It's pretty comfy for a futon. I'm a good-sized man 5"11 200lbs (and some change), and I'm able to stretch completely out, head to toe, without my head or feet touching the arms. Solid. No rocking, shimmying or creaking like you get with a lot of cheaper futons that you're scared to move too much on for fear they'll collapse, or you'll break one of the slats.     • A Bit Difficult, But Worth It.

We were looking for something to put in a hang out/gaming room that also gets used as, well, a room. It's fairly easy to put together, but would recommend two people. Above all heed the warnings from everyone else: do not tighten until it says to. You will regret tightening too early. Bed and drawers look great and matches everything else in the room. It doesn't feel flimsy with the exception of the little nubbin legs on the "back rest" portion of the queen size. They do feel like they will break if the bed slams down. Which does bring us to this futon being kind of difficult to handle. It goes down super easy because of the weight, but you need to control it. The included mattress is hinged to make folding into a couch a little easier, but it is still kind of difficult to convince everything. Comfort-wise the futon is pretty good. Be realistic about it, it is a futon. Sitting height in couch form may be a little goofy depending on how you sit, but it's more from the downward angle towards the bend that the futon does. It feels normal height as a bed unless you're used to some really fancy stuff. I sleep pretty decent on it though, have definitely had worse. ... show more

The futon was a great buy. I was worried the mattress wouldn’t be comfortable but it is and it seems like it will hold up over time. I use this as a couch more than anything right now. The bottom drawers aren’t actually attached which I may have not noticed in the description but they fit perfectly and are easy to assemble and use. I still really like them to keep blankets in for guests. Overall I’d recommend this! I looked through a lot of futons to find this one and am happy with the choice. ... show more

    • Not worth the money!

Haven’t had this for 6 months, and used it interchangeably a handful of times and the side is already broken. It is hard to get into couch position without help. We decided to spend more money on it thinking the quality would follow, it does not, I am disappointed in the investment we made on this.

The pros: it’s very attractive and comfortable. It feels sturdy but only time will tell as it gets used more in our air bnb. The cons: My husband is very handy however he said this was so difficult to put together and it took hours. It is impossible for one person to lower it to the bed position and then set it upright in couch position again. It definitely takes two people. When you let it down to the bed position it drops hard to the floor instead of a soft landing. Too difficult to take apart and return so we will keep it and deal with it. ... show more

I bought this for my office. For a fold out it looks good and the cushion is relatively comfortable. The challenge I had with it is placement. When it folds out you need additional room behind it. This makes placing it against a wall somewhat problematic complicated by the drawers being independent. I suppose if you rarely use it pulling it away from the wall before opening would not be too bad but does take some additional work. If you have a place where it doesn't need to be against a wall then that's no issue. The cushion seems to be quality made and as such is heavy. #MJLRecommended ... show more
