Sharp and straight... really that's all a knife needs. Now you can go bargain or spend more for something nicer. Better steel, more ergonomic handles, storage block, sharper edge, whatever. But whatever you get it should be sharp and straight... These knives are NOT straight!!! I couldn't figure out why they didn't line up correctly in the block so I took them out and stood them on end in a line and almost all of them were bent to some degree! Straight all the way up the handle then the blades angle off to one side (all to the right when looking from the top of the knives). $300 and they can't make straight knives!? Save yourself from disappointment and the returns process and find something made by a company that actually knows how to make a knife! ... show more

    • Don't waste your money.
I've had these knives for a few months, and they're not holding the edge. The knives arrived with some visible knicks in a few of the blades. I tried to get them smoothed out with a sharpener, but the edge dulls again quickly. Not the quality of steel I was expecting.

Beautiful knives, and very sharp. Personally love the set. However, some of the handles are a little crooked, and my eye is automatically drawn to it every time I see it. . It's not the slots in the knife block, it's the actual end of the handle. It's shaped like an oval, so the crookedness really shows in the knife block. EDIT- It's been several months, so imagine my surprise when the company reached out about the issue with the knives being crooked. They stated that they have improved their quality process and offered to replace my knives with the same or another set even. A pic of the newest set is uploaded. They look much better. They were also very polite and easy to communicate with. I thought the offer was above and beyond, especially since I wasn't exactly unhappy. ... show more

    • Knives are very sharp. Craftmanship is spotty. UPDATE: Refund Offered, Great Customer Service.
Update 9 - 26 - 2021: 3/5 Stars Lorraine Chun reached out from their customer service department and offered me either a full refund or a new set of knives. As I already had replaced these, I opted for the refund. She was very quick in her responses and even checked in to make sure that everything went through properly. 5/5 for customer service. (I would add that to the overall rating, but there is no category for it, so I will just add a star back) Original Post: 2/5 Stars These knives are very sharp as I previously mentioned. (Tested by cutting through paper to see if it cuts or tears, and it tears like butter) There are three issues that I noticed though, which is why I took off three stars. 1) The blades are not straight. They deviate at the handle by about 5-15 degrees. This does not kill its functionality, but it makes it slightly different to use compared to a straight blade. 2) The block where the steak knives sit will not sit properly in its groove. This is due to one of the pegs being out of alignment. I would change this on my own, but they are stapled in and I do not have a stapler that can go through wood. 3) The handles are slightly rotated. This is not to be confused with the blades being bent, they are two separate issues. The best way to explain it is that the handle is rotated clockwise (or counterclockwise) while the blade bends out away from your hand. I will update this if IMARKU resolves these issues. ... show more

I bought these knives for my son, as a Christmas gift and wow!! the knives are very good quality and my son and his wife love them! I opened them when they were delivered, just to check them out and almost swapped these for my knife set 😂 Great set for the money!

I had no idea that my previous knife set was lame until I got this set. Yes, I bought the old set 15 years ago when I first got married so it serves us well. The quality of this set is higher by miles. My only complaint is they have to be washed by hand and dried right away or they will rust. I’m usually a “dishwasher safe” only kind of girl but some things are worth washing by hand and these knives definitely are. Super sharp & high quality. I love them! Right out of the box I have at least three maybe more with drastic imperfections (bent / uneven cuts). Maybe this is normal when spending this kind of money on knives? They are light weight and sharp. I just wish the quality was better for the money. It kind of defeats the purpose of spending $200-300 to have "nice" knives. Maybe I didn't spend enough? Perhaps they are hand crafted and I should have expected these imperfections. I'd be returning these in a heart beat if it wasn't such a hassle. ... show more

    • Huge Upgrade in my kitchen!
So, this is the first 'good' knife set I've ever owned. I have always used cheap knives, not thinking it was that big of a difference. I used a "ginsu" as seen on tv set that we received as a wedding present for 13-1/2 years. Unable to figure out what I wanted for christmas I decided I wanted to get a nicer knife set. So that was my wife's present to me (I'm the main cook, plus smoke and grill stuff). I picked it out after researching for a few days and ordered it and she wrapped it for me. Amazing. I have been so happy with the knife set. They cut through stuff like I couldn't imagine. The selection of different sizes and purposes fit all my kitchen needs. The sharpener (which I've never had before) cleans up the blades quickly and works well. It sped up my food preps and cooking dramatically. I have split turkeys and chickens with the shears easily also. Love these knives and look forward to years of use. Plus they look classy with the dark wood. ... show more
