If you’re looking to make a lot of holes this is a good tool to use, however, it’s not the best for your lawn as it compacts the soil around the spikes which is not what you want. A core aerater is what you want that pulls plugs of soil to open it up.

The Josmimic Manual Lawn Aerator Tool needs to be assembled once unboxed. The assembly is easy and intuitive though and only takes a few minutes. The spring action on the spiked base is good and moves easily. On softer ground it takes very little effort to punch the spikes into the ground. On harder ground it does take a lot more effort. The handle is comfortable to hold onto and is a good height for me (I'm 5'3"). The metal is sturdy and the tool is strong and well made. I feel like it will stand up to repeated uses without issue. The only negative to the tool is when not being used, the spikes stick out beyond the base slightly so it may puncture or mark up the floor if it is stored bottom down on anything other than a concrete floor. I would have preferred the spikes retract all the way into the base. The base of the tool is fairly small so might be best used on a small yard unless you want to put in a lot of work for a larger space. I am happy with the quality of the aerator.

This knee-friendly manual lawn aerator tool does a pretty solid job if you’re willing to put in some effort. The 15 steel spikes dig into the ground well, and you can actually feel it loosening up compacted soil as you go along, especially in tougher patches of the yard. The spring-loaded auto-clean feature is a nice touch because it helps prevent dirt from constantly clogging the spikes, so you’re not stopping every few seconds to clear it out. That definitely makes the process smoother than older manual aerators I’ve tried. That said, it does take quite a bit of physical force, especially if your soil is dry or compacted. It’s not something you casually breeze through, and you’ll feel it in your legs and core after a while. It works best when you take your time and pace yourself instead of trying to rush the whole yard in one go.

I saw this item advertised on TikTok and thought I would get one for my yard. It does not work as advertised. The holes are not big at all, on the advertisement, the holes were twice as big, not so when I got the actual Item and started to use it. It takes a long time to do a small patch of my yard, and the nail size rods don't puncture the thick grass, making this item almost unusable.

It's spring time and what the best way to aerate a lawn is to "punch" small holes so the water can get down into the soil. Assembly is super easy and takes about 5 minutes. The height is adjustable to your liking and comfort level. It's steel construction and the spikes what appears to be made from stainless steel. It's not light weight but easy to use. Keep in mind if your soil is rocky, you might have a hard time aerating the lawn and though this tool works flawless..it's recommended for a small lawn. My front lawn is about 1,000 square feet and I was tired by the time I did the whole front lawn. Did it work? Sure did and it works well. The spikes are small and sharp it penetrates the soil easily. For the price it's great addition to the lawn tool shed.
