Good starter kit
This set includes tools to turn cardboard into whatever fantastic creations your kids can imagine! I like that you receive 2 of the punching tool along with 2 versions of cutters so kids can work together. The tools can cut into skin so kids should be mature enough to handle that responsibility. They are easy to use and durable. I especially appreciate the box to keep pieces organized and together. My kids have had a lot of fun using these to create fun objects and I appreciate a way to use my cardboard for fun! The price is a bit high as I wish it came with more connectors but it’s a good starter kit for sure

Best cardboard building kit we've tried
My kids love these cardboard building kits. This is the 3rd set we've ordered & if you're looking to buy one of these, you're probably looking at all of these sets thinking they're all the same. They're not. This set has a few features that makes it stand out & easier for kids to use on their own. 1) The screws have points & wider threading. The first set we bought had bolts without points & they were very difficult to get through the cardboard even with the included hole punch. My kids couldnt do it on their own. This set my 5 year old could do on his own with just the screw & if the cardboard wasn't cooperating the included hole punches fixed the issue. The punches are also easier to use & don't flex and bend like the first set we bought. 2) The tools are metal. The first set we ordered the saws were plastic. These cut a lot better. They cut through cardboard with minimal effort but wont cut skin (they will scrape knuckles but no worse than the cardboard itself). The saws, scissors, and the rolling tool to make perforated folds are all very good quality. They also have a hole on the handle that enables them to be used like a socket wrench which is unique. 3) The brackets are larger which makes the project more sturdy. The hinges that fold are the highlight of the whole kit. The 2nd set we ordered was also a really good quality set, but the brackets were smaller and it didn't come with hinges. Being able to make wings that flap & windows and doors that open is a big bonus! 4) The tool box. Neither of our older sets came with a tool box. I don't love the latch on this tool box. It's a little clumsy & difficult to get lined up to latch properly, but it closes tight once you get it right. Considering all of the small pieces having this case is extremely helpful because we ended up losing pieces pretty quick from our previous sets just storing them in a shoebox. Overall these are great toys for creative play & a good way for kids to learm basic mechanical and engineering skills with readily available materials (cardboard). Oh, and these will work with plastics too. Its a bit more difficult to make a hole and cut but my son was able to use some old plastic containers. My kids have made everything from forts to helmets with this set. Quality wise the plastic & metal will hold up to rough play. Our first set was a lot more flimsy. This one has the same quality as the 2nd set which is a more established name brand. When I bought the first set I ordered it purely based on price & it wasn't worth the money($15). I think I'd still struggle to pay $40-50 for something like this but for or under $40 this set definitely has all of the best quality & variety pieces we've found through trial and error. If you have a builder or a kid that likes to tinker this is a can't miss toy...as long as you get the right set!
