UPDATE: don’t bother buying these. My drivers side light doesn’t even work anymore because the weather seal is garbage that is used on these. So much humidity accumulated inside the entire drivers side tail light just doesn’t work. All in all, you get what you pay for. Learned my lesson and I’m no longer buying budget friendly “upgrades”. 10/23/2021 Lemme just start by saying I LOVE the look of these lights. I’m going for a blacked out look on my JLU but really love the OEM LED tail lights. When I saw these I had to get them. Installation was easy, though there were no instructions included in the box. The anti flicker kind of just hangs loosely but comes with some screws you can screw the device into. I decided to just Tuck the anti flicker underneath the mounting bracket and used some strong electrical tape to keep it secure. Oh and the mounting bracket. You need to take the bracket off of your stock tail lights and mount it to these new lights. It’s super straight forward and took me about 2 seconds to realize. Overall I love these lights. Great plug and play installation and wicked cost effective!!!

So honestly, I like the way they look but looks aren’t going to keep me from backing into something or someone running into me. There is absolutely no visibility when reverse lights are on.Break lights are better but still fairly dim. Super easy to install though so that’s a plus!

Edit: it’s been several years now (original review written in 2019, and it is now 2024) and I have had 0 issues with these tail lights functioning. These are super cool, actually. There are currently not many options for aftermarket JL tail lights. I’ve been looking for a few months and these are definitely the best looking on the market right now and have the best pricing. (*cough quadratec wants $400 cough*) Anyway, overall the install was very simple. As silly as it sounds, the hardest part is getting the wiring harness to unclick when removing the factory lights. There aren’t instructions included with these, but a YouTube video can show you how to remove the old lights, then you just need to know to unscrew part of the old light and screw it onto the new ones (photo attached). The lights are also labeled “L” and “R” to idiot proof the install. The LED’s are bright, and really update the look. The smoked finish is super sleek and I’m so happy with this purchase. 😍

I got new LED headlights with integrated halo's on my 2018 JLU Sport S since a piece of tire tread flew up and smashed one of my OEM halogen units. The look of the LED'S really set my Jeep apart from the other's, but my halogen taillights now seemed out of place. What to do? My birthday was this past weekend and my wife noticed my searches on Amazon. These lights were in my search history, and, being the great wife that she is, she ordered it for me. The YouTube videos don't really show how EASY it is to remove the OEM units and install these. OMG! One trim piece and one plastic, spring tensioned bolt and you're done! The resistor has to be mounted onto a mounting plate and then secured to an interior body seam where the tail light is installed. Other than that, it's done! They look great on my all black JLU and light up nice. kinda... However, the smoke lense really blocks out more than 50% versus the standard lights, so take that into consideration. I'm going to leave my stock 3rd brake light because it is brighter than these and may save my life in a foggy situation. So I picked looks over safety, but I might just exchange it for a non-smoked version and gain the higher visibility.
