Overall I am pleased with this dish rack as the size fit perfectly in my space to be able to drain into the sink. It’s large and holds a lot of dishes. I especially like the utensil compartment. The stainless steel siding is a nice touch that matches my appliances. I have a few complaints. Firstly, the “tilt” level of the draining board is not quite enough to drain all the water and it ends up sitting there. At least it’s easy to remove the board and clean it every once and a while, but I used a towel to prop up one side further for better draining. I do still wish water dropped off the board more easily. My other complaint is that it’s hard to sit normal sized plates upright to dry without awkwardly propping them on each other. The metal “slats” are not designed in the most functional way, but I still recommend this drying rack. I actually prefer this over the more expensive simplehuman one. ... show more

We currently have a small dish rack and use a flat ribbed silicone mat for extra items, but the collected water doesn’t drain from it so items take forever to dry. We looked for a better solution. Loved the size of the KitchenAid rack and that it comes with a sloped extension for additional cups etc. Kitchen Aid is a good brand and this is a nicely-finished, well-made dish rack. But as others have said the sides are too low to support larger items. I guess we could leave the wine glass extension attached to lean large items against. Also, the bottom tray came curved upward in the middle, so water collects in the 2 front corners next to the drain opening instead of flowing into the sink. For an $80 dish rack, I expect it to function properly out of the box—not need me to bend parts to the proper shape (which I tried but it’s still not right). This one is going back for something just as nice but with higher sides and a drain that works. Also one nitpick is it has supports for 10 plates, which is the same as our small dish rack— would have been nice to have more (our dishes are flat). ... show more

Well, my dishwasher stopped working - ugh and had to resort to hand washing while the repair man was searching for a replacement part. The first unit arrived with a cracked / broken utensil holder, but Amazon quickly resolved that by shipping out another one immediately. This dish rack / drainer is very well designed. The legs elevate the unit high enough that the slide out bottom drainer tray fits above my sink and allows for good drainage. The only thing that is weak about this unit is the utensil holder, it could be more sturdy, but the replacement unit hasn’t broken in over a month’s usage. ... show more

I was using a one piece Rubbermaid dish rack before and couldn’t stand that I couldn’t clean under the rack, the water wouldn’t drain so it just got so dirty and gross. I wanted something that wouldn’t do that and I could clean easier so I searched for hours. I’m glad I found this dish rack because it drains well with my sink, not perfectly but the drain board is very easy to slide out and clean if needed. I saw reviews saying that the drain board moves easily and the plates don’t sit up right. So far, I haven’t had an issue with the board moving but I can see how it could happen. Most of my dishes don’t seem to touch it though. It’s also very easy to fix if you notice it move, it just rests on the feet of the rack. My plates do sit a little awkwardly which is probably my only complaint so far but I just tilt them so they can rest properly enough to be stable. As you can see in my picture, I was able to fit a lot of dishes to dry. I have a very small section between my stove and sink that I keep the rack so I couldn’t get anything too large. This one is small enough to fit but is big enough to fit a good amount of dishes. If you want to get an affordable dish rack, this is a great option. My rubbermaid was cheap but I also had to replace it often. In the end, it’s worth it to spend a little more money to buy something that won’t have to be replaced as often. I don’t know how long this one will last since I’ve only had it for a few weeks or so but I definitely see it lasting much longer than the Rubbermaid. I recommend buying this one, it’s not perfect but nothings perfect. I believe it works well enough and looks nice, it’s a good affordable dish rack worth trying. ... show more

There isn't anything I don't like about this rack. It is sturdy. I put my heavy Dutch oven on the rack to dry. I use the rack everyday as I don't have a dishwasher so everything is washed by hand. I have enough room and it is sturdy enough, to hold a lot of pots. The only assembly I needed to do was slide the vinyl under the rack (this catches the water) and I can't think of the name. But was easy to do. I have the rack setting next to my sink so that the water, from my dripping pans and dishes, runs into the sink, via this vinyl piece. The gray that is referred to in the description is the raised side of the rack. The color looks like some pots-dull finish not shiny. No other way to say it. Anyway, I am glad I purchased this item. I bought it at the end of April and it seems be holding up quite well. I have a small counter so it is on display always and it looks just fine. mm ... show more

This dish drainer is perfect for a kitchen that does a lot of food prep and cooking. Specialized tools and oversized items fit and stay put with less "dish drainer Jenga". The drain spout easily fits over the 1" raised lip of our farmhouse sink. We did elevate the back end of the drainer about 2" by placing plastic " riser cups" under the 2 rear feet for faster drainage. I ordered the used one for $48.00! Must've been used quite a few times! Lots of white residue and all the metal parts were very water spotted. No damage to any parts. Some stainless cleaner did the trick. Oh well!
