May want to size up a size for looser fit, they're a bit tight and pretty short lined. Lots of compliments on these! So hard to find semi elegant shorts. Can't find any that aren't solid colors and very very casual UNTIL NOW! I'm thrilled with all 4 pairs of these prints. Each I selected had a botanical or tropical (sometimes both) theme and I get complimented each time I wear them! Fit is slightly small, I wear XL so they're roomier and not so short lined. I! 5'6.5 inches and around 130 lbs so hope that helps the size decisions. Fairly quick to arrive and holding up just fine --so far worn as street shorts no swimming. Recommend the print fabrics.

The medium fit comfortably loose around my legs. I've been wearing them at hip level since manufacturers think that little bit of material at the crotch really works. Gotta be ladylike bending, etc. Wash well and look nice, but another color may be different

Comfortable and be dressed up or down. Runs large in my opinion. I do not like super baggy shorts, and prefer they be only a little loose. I typically wear a large and have all of the colors in medium. For reference I am 5’7” and 170. If you’re on the fence, order them!

Great stretch on the waist and the hip area. Not so great fit in the leg holes. Felt like I was wearing a diaper. My thighs are large so I was hoping for a but of stretch in the legs but it was not. I really liked the look of these and hope to make my own adjustments for a better fit.
