    • Compared to a twice-the-price "fits every grinder" purchased locally, this fit--and worked--great.

This one did not fit well on our older Black-and-Decker angle grinder. It had a rather shallow surface above the grinding wheel for the shroud to mount to, and during a generally-good clearing session of mortar-removal from our subfloor it shifted a bit on the grinder and lots of mortar dust escaped into our house. It migrated everywhere and covered or penetrated everything--a huge problem. Everything throughout the house had a layer of gray mortar dust on it as a result of a less-than-15-second mishap. It was somewhat mitigated by closed doors--bedroom, bathroom, den, etc. but still managed to find its way into those rooms to one degree or another. But when we switched to a different angle grinder with a deeper lip above the grinder wheel (this time a Dewalt) escaping dust was minimal (although a slight puff of dust will sneak from beneath the shroud every now and then). Another word of advice? Make sure you have a good shop-vac to suck the dust from this shroud--and make sure its internal dust bag is not full, and its dust filter is installed. This should help keep the dust from going everywhere if something unforeseen happens. Oh, and check the hose and vacuum bag every few minutes to ensure they are neither clogged nor filled with debris. These devices are still not perfect, nor are we practiced professional construction contractors. But take the extra expense and time to cover your cabinets, your furniture, etc., ANYTHING you don't want to be covered or infiltrated by a layer of gray dust. I was very impressed by this high quality dust shroud that also comes with a cup wheel, 2 wrenches, adapters to fit different grinders and vacuums. The shroud fit directly on my Bosch grinder perfectly. The cup wheel needed the spacer that was included. The black edge of shroud easily slides to the side to do work at the edges. I was very impressed by this high value kit. It costs less than one box store cup wheel, and has everything needed. I'm a tile installer, and use this to remove thinset or adhesives from wood and concrete sub floors. ... show more

This did not work for my (fairly old) Makita 4" grinder because the grinder does not really have a collar to attach it to. However, it was a well built shroud and would work well for most grinders, I'm sure.

Didn't fit any of my grinders properly: DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt 60volt or 20 volt. This probably will fit small grinders, didn't fit any that I own. The profile is too high, preventing the wheel touching the floor, adding washer on the back didn't help as it's too much above the arbor thread, the height is fixed: any other shroud that I own ( Makita, dustless industries) have at least 1/4" room, I adjust wheel to brush level and when you put it on surface it has room to push the wheel down, on this one you probably need to smash the brushes to make the wheel lower to touch the grinding surface, which doesn't make sense to me, ( I see many others with same design that didn't pay attention before, guess was spiled with good brand shrouds) Plastic itself looks good quality, liked the look and tried my best to convince myself that I can use it, tried on all grinders that I own, but figured out that not going to be good enough for me so returning and ordered 2 Makita once. ... show more

I thought it would mostly just minimize the insane amount of concrete dust, but it ELIMINATED it! Here are the before and after of the main bath in our home. it easily cleaned/resurfaced the 5 ft x 6ft floor in addition to leveling the high spots, especially over the toilet. The original builders used 3/4 on an inch of mortar to shim the toilet in the front for sake of this, but that is the WRONG way to do it.....grinding is faster, cheaper, and easier! ... show more
