I just had to come leave a review about how brutalist this adapter is. It gets HOT. Like concerningly HOT. But it's fine. It's just the demonic powers inside that make it transfer so fast in such a small package. I usually balance a solid one pound alluminum paper weight on it to dissipate some of that heat when I'm transferring for a long period. I am being dead serious. Speaking of which I've left this thing plugged in and running for two days straight while a program converted files onto it. I've filled up a fist full of 1tb cards for modding video game consoles with it. I may have burned myself with it, but I have never once had a failed transfer, and I've saved myself a lot of waiting hours because it's fast. Solid purchase. 10/10. When used on a USB 3/USB-C port this thing gets so hot it will literally burn you! Most of what I use it for is archiving so speed doesn't matter... using it on a USB 2.0 port greatly reduces the heat. Other than that, no complaints. I liked it enough to buy a 2nd unit if that says anything.

    • NO MUSS, NO FUSS!
This drive has fewer compatibility issues & quirks than my three generic models. It just works, plain and simple. The cheaper models also work, but they exhibit annoying & time consuming issues. For instance, one drive only works properly with fat32 file systems. Another won't play nicely with adapters or my TCL phone. Some drives have to be plugged in and unplugged more than once to get them mounted. But this solid-feeling hunk of metal works flawlessly with all my micro SD cards (32GB-512GB) and all my devices. ... show more

Very sturdy. While the cover is made of plastic, the main body itself is made of metal aluminum so you can feel the weight when you grab hold of it. Connection is very fast. Once you have the set ready and plug it into a computer the computer recognize it and ready to use right away with no issue. Another feature I like is that it also have a ring on it so you can attach it to your keys, carabiner or anywhere you feel secure and bring it along with it with you. It works great, and transfers fast, but holy crap can this thing get hot. I used this adapter to move data between the SD card in my Steam Deck and a new one I was replacing it with and I almost burned my hand when the transfer was done. Be warned!
