This item is much smaller than it appears in the picture, so be sure you look at the dimensions before purchasing. Other than being small, the product looks nice. The reason we returned it is the horrible chemical smell. Im not sure what the wood is treated with, but the odor is unbearable. It made our entire home smell bad and our home is not small. Even after 48 hours, the smell is unbearable. In order to get a refund for this item, you must return it. Which means you have to disassemble it and put it back in the box for return shipping. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I'm not sure that it is even safe to have in the home - the smell is that overwhelming. ... show more

Great buffet. Was easy to put together since everything was marked, but did take some time. Ordered 2 so the second one was faster once understood how to assemble. Well packaged, no damage. The glass doors just needed knobs and rubber hinges. Nice quality. Looks good and like that the back came in 3 separate pieces in case you want to leave one of the backs open for some reason. ... show more

Aesthetically and structurally, this is a pretty good piece. The cabinet seems pretty solid. The color and finish matches my black/brown Ikea dining set. It took me about an hr to put everything together; working solo. Overall, this was a pretty good buy. So why only three stars?? OH BOY DOES IT SMELL AWFUL!!! There is a VERY strong chemical (oil? varnish?) smell to this thing. When I got the box, i decided to take everything out and put it together right away, thinking the smell was just from the box (which has some oil stains on it). Nope. The smell was definitely coming from the cabinet itself. I tried pretty much everything (Lysol wipes, baking soda, vinegar, bleach + water) to get rid of the smell. It's going on 3 weeks of "airing out" in my dining room. The smell has definitely dissipated, but is still there. I think maybe a few more weeks, and hopefully it will be all gone. So other than the smell, the cabinet itself is great. ... show more

I was not expecting much because of the price I paid. It met my standards and was Easy to put together. It took me about 2 hours by myself with the help of a few glasses of wine! There are minor scratches on the front, but is not obvious unless you are in very close distance looking.
