I was surprised that the wire inside is so thin. The rubber coating is thick, but the wire inside is thin, as if you bought the thinner flexible wire. It can make it harder to get a tight twist because you have more rubber than wire, if that makes sense. I expected the wire to be thicker, not just the rubber. It worked out mostly fine in the end, but I definitely was hoping for thicker wire for thicker branches. Having just the rubber thicker doesn't work out so well.

Switched to this brand and am disappointed. The inner wire in this set is a small gauge so it slips around inside the rubber coating and makes it hard to tie a secure loop. The premium brands have wire bonded to the shell so plant ties are more secure and easier to reuse. This is okay but not a best choice.

Soft, flexible wire. Very easy to use. It stays in place after being bent around the stake. It is easy to move as the plant grows.

I've used various types of this wire tie in the garden for various purposes. The main thing I use it for is for training or securing plants. It is especially good for climbing plants and tying them to structures. I also use it for tying sticks and other materials together. The soft coating is good for protecting stems and not causing damage.
