Useful - use a marker though, as when Im watering plants, the notes otherwise get washed away with time. My orchids are noted for repotting, and blooming - I don't have but 40 or so, but it is good to keep track. I only wish they had a little hole in them so that I could attach them more securely.

    • The right length for seed starting, robust
Size: 4.7 Inch Color: White
These are just the right length for home seed starting as you can put in the label in the cell and still cover with a humidity dome. One side is textured so you can write with a pencil rather than a marker. Pencil always lasts longer for me. I have penciled labels that have lasted for years. So, for example, your Fall planted garlic will still be readably labeled in the Spring. (Just talking about the lasting power of a regular old Dixon Ticonderoga #2, here, nothing special) There is a smooth side as well if you prefer using a garden pen. A regular "Sharpie" brand pen will fade by the end of the season as they always do. I like the shorter 4.7" but I'm sure the taller 6" will work just as well. Plastic is nice and thick, so it won't weather and shatter after a season. If you do use marker, know you can always wipe off any remaining labeling with a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol and presto! Ready to be reused. Wash off the rubbing alcohol of course. You can just erase any labeling with a pencil. This means that a package of 100 can last you quite a few seasons, and I have a fairly large garden. So much better than resorting to plastic knives. And yes, I am that cheap! ... show more

Does the job well, problem is markers erase off them quick. Within a few weeks. Paint markers, permanent markers, you name it. I have to tape painters tape to them and write on that. Names erase within 2-3 weeks in Southern California. Probably faster in rainier/ more humid regions. But they’re semi sturdy and with some painters tape you’ve got some good plastics that’ll last longer than you will ... show more
