This is a good product if you do not mount it on a wall. Mounting it on a wall you will find the the top row sags and causes the tapes to fall out. Simple fix is to place 2 slim cassette cases in the top row and that will wedge them in good enough to stay in place. Permanent fix would be to add slots in the top and bottom of the rack and re-do the vertical dividers ( make them long enough to reach the slots at the top and bottom ). The horizontal dividers have slots on each side and hold very well in place. I guess doing this is like making a whole new product. For what I paid for it just a couple extra dollars for some wood and about 1/2 hour of my time to get it to where I need does not bother me as this is fair simple to remedy. The golden question is would I recommend or buy this again ?, my answer would have to be yes, it is inexpensive, does what it is designed for, yes it has a few flaws, but not enough to discredit it and call it a bad product, and that it is not. ... show more

I bought these mainly for the simplicity and for the volume of tapes they can hold for the price. There are many other (much costlier) options that hide your tapes away, but these display them proudly in a nice, minimalist fashion. I really enjoy how they turned out looking in my recessed wall. Be sure you have the ability to screw in or otherwise brace these shelves; they're rather tippy. I've also seen other reviews commenting on the flimsiness--I must agree, though only slightly. Their light weight can be both a positive and negative, depending on how you support them. I was able to slip some excess wood beneath each column to straighten the shelves a little. Unfortunately, it really is a crap shoot on how these arrive to your door. One shelf came in perfect, ready to mount condition. The other was coming apart so badly that I deconstructed the entire thing and put it back together for about an hour after learning how it was built. On the plus side, I can help any of you with the same issue now! And maybe even build another one of these for myself on the cheap... ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Cassette tapes fit perfectly in here, and you could spray paint the storage rack to give a little bit of personality. I used metallic black spray paint. I recommend covering up the compartments with painter’s tape because spray paint is hard to apply evenly in the areas where the cassettes go. But the outside parts looked really good when painted. Considering how hard it is to find any type of a storage rack for cassettes, this turned out to be a pretty good and relatively affordable solution. ... show more

As others have described, the storage unit is unfinished. I attempted to sand the inserts before assembling them and found it didn't work well. Once I started to place my ink pads in, though, I was happy for the organization. I have one placed horizontally and, when the first one worked well, I ordered a second one for vertical storage. They arrived very promptly and assembled easily. Small ink pads are the least likely to fit, with both distress smalls and Catherine pooler smalls not fitting. Archival smalls fit perfectly, although the are unlabeled in my photo. I took one star off for the splinters, but overall, these cases are working well for me, and I was pleased to have a place to store so many things at a very affordable price. ... show more

The level of unfinished that it appears in the photos is higher than in reality. Reality is one I might expect of a diy kit for crafty teenagers. Also the photograph of the product appears more accommodating than it actually is--the case in the photograph is deeper. I'm not in a place where I have unlimited time to reconcile it or I'd've returned it and sought out a different product. ... show more
