  • Bigger than expected
Love this backpack, worked great for my hunting trip would recommend to anyone that needs a ton of storage room.

  • Updated review
Disappointed in this. Got it for my brother. He’s had it for a month. The vinyl or whatever the water resistant coating is is peeling and falling out everywhere. UPDATE: The seller reached out and offered to send a new one. I appreciate this customer service and recognize that there are items that can be bad. I will return for another update when we receive the new backpack and then again after its first few uses. FINAL UPDATE: Seller sent a new backpack and all is well with the new one. No peeling or flaking. Very happy with the backpack and the customer service! Would order again. ... show more

  • Best value ever!
Color: Army Green
Because this pack is still new and I have yet to use it, so far way more value than I expected. Not only uncovering the built in features but the potential space it is capable of is the most fun. Waiting for the water proof smell of the inside liner to air out. Seems to be perfect , well worth the value I was expecting. ... show more

  • Decent Beginner pack.
Color: Army Green
Decent beginner pack. I have miles and miles of military time under a larger USGI pack. Decent amount of adjustments to variety of straps. Not bad for 50-60 as a price. You can find some other options on either side of this price. This is going to a packless teen in the house, I think an adult with more responsibilities in the hike would have more cargo and I'd get a slightly bigger pack. This is probably in the upper-medium size category, with large probably beginning at "80L." Do not ask me who made up liters instead of square inches or feet in these types of things. First up... carry handle. I like the beefy carry handle just behind the lid on the carry strap side. I feel like you could fill the bag and hang it on a hook or use this handle to heft the bag up onto the roof of the car or what have you. Of course, all my experience with frame packs is USGI rucksacks with external frames. I feel like this pack is a little narrow, that it should be wider. But those also have huge saddles bags on both sides, and when I put it on, the frame goes on my 6'5 body and... feels good. So it should be ok, but you are losing cargo space on the lack of external bags. The only MOLLE or attachment points for additional storage is on top, which already has an added storage space. The rear bottom has a loop for some sort of tool or attachment point, and there is strapping on the bottom as well. If you are looking to put a sleeping bag roll on the exterior, looks like its on top or on bottom. The tubular frame can be seen inside the main compartment if you look in the access panel. This "frame" is the SUPER BASIC... its just an inverted U. Its also removable... I'm used to a frame pack being very large giving a military rucksack lots of stability. Of course that adds weight also. Again, military has external frames, not internal. The lower compartment has the ability to be combined with the main area by opening/closing the drawstring on the divider and has its own access from the outside. Awkwardly long exterior side pouches. Minimal outer mid pouch. Belt and chest straps to go with the shoulder straps. Again, I think it'd be a decent gift for a couple nights hike or beginner or someone that isn't sure if they need a frame pack. I feel confident in this pack in decent weather. If it drizzled we'd pop a poncho over this pack. The true test is only in overnight trips, and since its the winter... we're going to have to put this through a pace or two in the late Spring if we catch a dry one! My only concern is the zippers, but we'll see how those keep up to load over time. ... show more

  • 65L Pack for this price point is a really good deal.
Color: Army Green
We've actually hiked with this pack. I carried on a 12 mile hike and my son took it on a 25 mile hike with his Boy Scout troop. Here's the skinny on it... First, I was concerned about the zippers as this seems to be one of the main failure points on budget packs. I'm happy to report that we had no failures, rips, or goofs with the zippers. That's a relief. You don't want a failure out on the trail like that. Second, the size is nice. There's not a lot of Molle style rigging points on the pack. (Just on the top area cover.) So, if you are used to rigging gear on the outside of your pack, this one might not be for you. The main compartment is closed with a drawstring and that tucks under the top lid. There's a secondary compartment at the base of the pack that will allow you to stow something that you need to get to without rooting through your entire ruck. You need to access a second, lower drawstring inside the access zipper to make this compartment actually separate. It works. The shoulder straps are nicely padded and you *can* adjust the waistband to sit right above your hips to hold the weight of the pack properly. I packed about 55lbs in this pack with no issues. The internal frame is an inverted "U", but does a good job of holding the pack squarely on my back. The pack itself reminds me of a sort of ALICE pack, with the fixed side pouches and larger front pouch. I was able to rig a sleeping roll on the bottom of the pack by undoing the straps and rigging to the one utility loop. It was weird, but it worked. Finally, the included rain cover worked! It's found stashed in that top flap in the rear, zippered compartment. It color matches your pack and has elastic around it to cinch to the pack. We encountered some pretty hefty rains and had zero issues. Overall, nice pack! ... show more
