I was hesitant to get this as I've used other E-Readers and tablets to try and read books before but didn't like the feeling and weight of them. Figured what the heck during a Black Friday Sale and boy am I glad I bit the bullet! I use it daily and it has really helped me get back into my habits of reading. It was easy enough to get familiar with the layout, and I bought the Ad-Free version so I didn't have to worry about being distracted about anything else but my books. Settings are helpful to change to personal preference and while I miss the "feel" of paper in my hand, the page turn feels satisfying enough, and the device is light enough to hold in one hand without issue. I use the device with the canvas cover as well, and I highly recommend that to make it feel more like opening a book to read. Battery life is outstanding! I've charged it fully once, and it's gone through 2 and a half books without need a re-charge. I've read through several on this kindle already and plan to continue to use it daily! I love this little e-reader. It is small enough to fit in your hands (even with a cover on it) so that you can easily take it on the go. The only issue is with the touch screen. I am a devoted reader and have an extensive library of print books to be read and shared with others. I love the tactile feel of a print book, and therefore am a late adopter to an an e-reader. But I must admit, I really like my Kindle Paperwhite. It was purchased for a trip abroad and allowed me to carry a travel guide and a couple of novels for long flights in one compact package. Battery lasted well past my 21 days of travel. The ability to adjust the backlight intensity meant that I could read for extended periods without eye strain, and can read on a flight or in bed with minimal overhead light. I only wish the unit came with a better tutorial on how to flip between books loaded on the Kindle. It's been kind of clunky for a newly like me. But I'm looking forward to getting more experience. I purchased my first Amazon Kindle Paperwhite in this bundle deal. I did not need the extra charging block but it's essentially free when purchased with the bundle, so why not? This is my first experience with any Amazon Kindle. I have recently taken up reading again and was beginning to accumulate a collection of physical books so I opted to go paperless instead. I chose this Kindle Paperwhite (8 GB) with 6.8" display and adjustable warm light, Ad-Supported; along with the Kindle Paperwhite Fabric Cover (11th Generation-2021) in Deep Sea Blue. I read in the evenings while laying in bed with my head and shoulders slightly propped up on a pillow. I have the brightness turned all the way down on the Kindle and the adjustable warm light to almost as "yellow" as it will go. I also wear blue-light blocking glasses. I have NOT noticed any negative impacts on my eyes or sleep schedule due to the light from reading on this Kindle. The overall Kindle and case together are very lightweight and easy to use. The Kindle screen automatically turns off/on when the case opens/closes. My hands, wrists, arms do not ache or get tired when reading for ~30+ minutes. The battery life so far is beyond exceptional. When I first received my Kindle, I fully charged it and set it aside for 2 MONTHS while I finished reading the remaining physical books I had already purchased. When I picked up the Kindle, after it had been sitting for 2 months, the battery was still at 80%. I am still learning the little tricks and settings within the Kindle as far as turning off page numbers, percent complete, estimated times, and overall page layout, font, size, etc. I am still toying with the highlighting and other reference/resource features. But overall, the functionality is very intuitive. I have NOT needed to Google any instructions on how to change something yet... I thought I would miss physical books and put off buying a Kindle for far too long. This Kindle is so much more convenient, light weight, travels easy, and you don't get distracted with notifications (as you might with a "regular" tablet). I would highly recommend a Kindle to any avid reader. ... show more
