    • Instructions need to be better

Easy to assemble. However, the instructions are pictures only. There was no callout for the hole for the supports, so I needed to take the sides apart and turn them so all of the cross supports could be installed. The screws holding the sides together need to allen wrenches to tighten properly and only one is included, so make sure you have a set of metric sizes handy. Also, the screws holding the shelves are shown as phillips head, but are actually allen head, and the tool they give you uses the long end of the allen key for the phillips, making it difficult to put the screws in using the short end of the key (which requires you to turn only so far before removing and repositioning the tool multiple times). The shelves are sturdy, but the books I have are not like the pictures they show here, and need bookends to hold them from falling out of the ends of the shelves. I may just use some bungie cords around the open ends for now. Perhaps if they update their design they could put a cross rods at each tier to keep books from falling out. ... show more

Great unit. I purchased to put my vynal record collection on. I fill 5 of th 4 shelves and the weight is no issue. Only problem was, at assembly hardware was not labeled and parts appeared to be missing. Upon deeper inspection hardware was located in another bag.

Didn't even look at the instructions it was super easy and quick to assemble just using simple COMMON SENSE. BUT, one center sect (although the proper length and fit) had both the shelf crossarms much higher than the rest and if a shelf was laid in place the right side was like 4 inches higher then the left side It had to be put in by mistake and possibly belong to a set of smaller dimentions....... So cut them off and weld in the cprrect place, grind off the old weld marks, sand and repaint, in total a few hours work........................................needs better quality contrl for sure.................................................................................. ... show more

    • The metal frame parts have both horizontal and vertical orientation!

I had an issue upon original assembly. The frame parts were slightly warped/bent. I incorrectly assumed that the way they came together was the correct orientation. This was incorrect, this caused me some grief and upon realizing two frame pieces would not come together in the correct orientation I contacted the seller. I gave some feedback on the instructions not detailing the orientation issues and the issue I experienced. The support was awesome and sent me out a replacement with no problems. When the replacement arrived I had it assembled properly in under 15 min. It’s a great bookcase and is holding stacks of books with absolutely no issue. Usually I would ding the review for the frustration of the first build but the support was stellar and upon receiving the replacement the assembly was a breeze. Listen to the reviews that warn you about assembling the frame. Double check before adding the shelves. Don’t make assumptions on the orientation based on how they fit together naturally, make sure all the slots are the same size and all the holes for the x supports are on the same side. Great product, I just had a weird defect and the support handled it fantastically. ... show more
