Super easy to assemble, slide the two legs over the base and use the green pegs to hold it together. The chimes just go into the two holes on the base. Takes about 5 minutes to put together. The chimes just sound like a normal wind chime but interestingly are solid, which is nice since I was afraid of my child bending them. The metal plates are actually in tune, and are flat unlike many of these types that are rounded. The drum is pretty good too, sturdy but actually has tension. So it actually behaves like a drum, meaning double strokes actually work which is impressive. The construction is pretty much all plywood, no strange odors. Toddler loves it! This is such a cute toy!!! Especially as my baby loves music. I figured it would be a cheaper light weight wood but, boy was I wrong! This is a great quality wooden baby toy! The hefty wood makes it feel like a luxurious baby toy at that lol. The drum, wind chimes and xylophone are all so good sounding and of good quality as well. If you don't like loud toys for your kids then this isn't for you. It's loud and fun and the kids have so much fun making music.pieces are easy to assemble novtools require. Just a little elbow grease lol

It was a gift for my great granddaughter, she used it right away, but the one item on the left side, the wooden one she could unscrew it and turn it on screw it, and took it off of the platform, so that wasn’t attached very well.
