Our 5 year old son is always constructing his own cities and towns with streets when he plays with his little cars. I saw this on TV one day, and thought he might actually like one. And he loves it! He knew what it was right when he opened it Christmas morning. He had me open it up and lay it down in his room right near where he keeps all of his cars. Its not extremely large. I can't remember the exact size but I'm thinking around 2' x 4' . Or.close to that. It's a nice thick mat/carpet. The carpeting is flat so it's easy to drive the cars around on it. The printing of the town is nicely colored. It's very cute. It's a LITTLE blurry but then I can imagine printing on carpet is most likely not the best medium to print on!.lol But he loves it. He builds little houses and buildings with his Legos and places them around on the mat. He loves driving his cars around on the streets and using that great little imagination he has thinking up stories about what's going down in his little town! So fun and great grip. Does not move when walked or played on which is great. Good color and size overall. The roads and such could be a little larger, a bit small for even match box cars but only if the kids are parking and obeying traffic laws, which is unlikely.

Bought this for my 4 yr old grandson for Christmas. He had a smaller vinyl one but the dog chewed it up. Hopefully this one will last. I ordered this one specifically because it had a carpet look and skid proof back. That way it won't slip all over the room and it will lay flat after I unfold it for a few days. Should be able to damp wash it with a cloth. Perfect size 60 inches by 32 inches without taking up too much room, can also be folded or rolled to put away. The roads on the carpet are bigger than for match box so most small cars and vehicles will work on this.Will give the kids hours of pretend fun. I read reviews on a lot of these type of mats and this one was rated as one of the highest within this price range. Some reviewers complained because both sides of the front are the same, but a kid doesn't care they just want to move their cars through the town. And each rug/mat I looked at had something I did not like. So for the money this is the best one I found. I would order it again and very happy with the quality and looks of this playmate. It’s cute and I’ve always wanted one when I was little but… it comes folded. I know it’s easier to ship that way but it’s been a month and still trying to get the rug fully flattened out. It’s soft but one of the corner stitches has already unraveled. We use hot wheels and matchbox cars and the parking spots and some lanes of the roads are too short or narrow. The rug is just a repeat so they show the same buildings. It is a good size and leaves room for multiple people to play with my son but the narrow lanes and squeezed together short parking spots are just weird to me. I will add the rug is bright and hasn’t faded. For the price it was worth it. ... show more
