This is such a cute little bookshelf! It was very easy to install (note: you will need a screwdriver which is not included). The depth of the shelves are too deep for most of the books so I put packaging paper to give a little bit of a lift to my books. Just like other reviews indicated, screwing the screws into the dowel and wood is the most challenging part of assembly. Thanks to YouTube, I learned that applying bar soap to the threads makes it easier to screw. Once I did that, it was smooth sailing. Hand hurt after but got it done!! The shelf is small but I’m using it for my 3 year old and he loves it. The packaging comes with some styrofoam which I put in the bottom of one of the slings so that his smaller board book covers could be lifted and visible! ... show more

All of the pieces were packaged well and in perfect condition. I read other reviews that the screws were too long, but I had no issues with that other than a small blister on my thumb from screwing them all in. You have to align the wooden dowels into their final position, and hold them firmly in place while putting the screws in. Proper positioning and a little elbow grease are all that are needed to put the item together. It holds a good amount of books. Woodboard came with damages and marks. Otherwise other parts are great - comes with manual and small parts for organization, easy to follow. Haven't put it to use yet so not sure with the sturdiness

Not hard to put together If you don’t have a lot of books it’s great but I feel like our kiddos have way more books 📚 So this unfortunately is just too small for me, but I’m keeping it.

Our 13-month-old loves this bookshelf! She always goes to it to pull books out, then sits and thumbs through a few, before standing up and continuing to pull more out. I don't mind the mess! I'm just glad she likes the books (she likes to eat them too but that's another story lol). The only drawback on it all was with the assembly – some of the rods seemed slightly too wide for the inserts they were supposed to go in and the hole for the screws was a bit off-center on a few too.
