Setup took about 2.5 hours with the kids swarming around me. It was simple to assemble as long as you are methodical in your approach and follow the instructions. They include spare hardware like fasteners and easy to lose washers. The assembly is mid range quality, but a good value for what you're paying. Warning: Check your parts before the return window closes! We bought this KidKraft set during Black Friday, planning to build it later for our son's birthday. Unfortunately, when we finally opened the box, we discovered a crucial piece was missing — and by then, the return window had closed. We reached out to KidKraft, but they refused to replace the missing part. Now we have a mostly built house with no roof. Looking at other reviews, it seems like someone else may have received our missing piece (we got two '14' pieces instead of the '16' we needed). Lesson learned: always check the box right away! ... show more

This is a fantastic little playhouse. Well made and sturdy (wooden construction). Best suited for 1 - 5 years old but older kids can enjoy too. My photos show a 3.5 year old and a 7 year old to help illustrate size. As far as assembly- you NEED 2 people and about 3 to 4 hours. While the company supplies the correct screwdriver bit, you will need an electric screwdriver, socket wrench, regular wrench, hammer, and a phillips head hand screwdriver. The directions are mostly thorough, but there were definitely a few times that additional details would have been helpful (picture didn't look exactly correct). Also, they did not predrill all holes, which would have been helpful. Finally, nothing is preassembled- you will have to attach everything (door knobs, magnetic closures, etc)- things that "typically" come partially pre-assembled. All said, the kids love this playhouse and I can see it lasting for a while to come! *note: this comes with stakes to attach the unit to the ground (not seen in my photos) ... show more

    • Smaller than imagined, but nice!
smaller than I imagined, my 6yo daughter fits perfectly, but if she was much bigger would've been tight for her. But, her and my 1yo love it! I haven't put the stakes in the ground because we want to build a proper playground landing, but so far its great! A little wobbly when my 6yo swings high, but they have a blast and that's all I care! We really wanted a playground, but they're CRAZY expensive now, so we got this with hopes of next year adding onto it and building our own! ... show more
