  • Sweet Little Playhouse
First, let me just say that this house is really neat. This house is big, bigger than most other options. My almost 4 year old will be able to play this this for several years Things I love… -The aesthetics, it is really a pretty little house -Sturdy and well made -Quality of material is great. Free from chopped paint or warped wood. Every bit and piece was accounted for and in good shape -My package arrived 4 days early! I would never expect that to happen for an item of this size. Boxes (yes, 2) were large and one was quite heavy -The level of detail is pretty wonderful for a little kid house. From the shingles on the roof to the interior attachments to the decorative paneling on the dormer, this thing is the real deal -All pieces were clearly marked and extremely well packaged -Pre-drilled holes are a dream although I had to get out a tall stool to get enough leverage to drill the roof and dormers. I’m 5’7 for reference, this thing is tall! Now for the cons.. - I put this together mostly on my own. It took me nearly 4 hours a day for 3 days. Instructions say 3-5 hours but I’m certain that would require 2 people continuously working on it to achieve that timeline - The level of detail is amazing but be advised that means you will be working with a zillion pieces of hardware, come up with a system and stick to it to avoid losing parts and getting frustrated at the number of times you have to switch drill bits throughout - The visual instructions are really well done but they lack more than “Flush to edge” in terms of description. Great if you’re a visual person but you REALLY have to study each photo carefully to ensure that you don’t have to take pieces apart and switch them part way through Overall, extremely happy with my purchase. Definitely on the spendy side with many lower cost options available but I think you get what you pay for most of the time and we will get many many years out of this before our kiddo grows out of it. I love the look and quality and highly recommend this for a toddler - Be sure to have a 2nd set of hands and hopefully you’ll be able to put it together more quickly. ... show more

  • Awesome Find
I was initially hesitant to purchase this playhouse due to some of the mixed reviews, but I decided to take a chance—and I’m so glad I did! Overall, I’m super impressed with the product and would absolutely recommend it to others. My kids have been loving it! Here are a few things worth noting that others have mentioned as well: • QUALITY: In my opinion, the quality is great. We did receive one slightly cracked piece, but it was easily fixed with wood glue. The paint has a matte whitewashed look, which seems intentional rather than a flaw. The wood is real and feels appropriate for a set like this. ASSEMBLY: It’s definitely a project. My husband, who’s pretty handy, managed to put it together in about 4 hours. There are a lot of pieces, but organizing the screws and parts ahead of time made a huge difference. If you're not experienced with woodworking, expect to put in some effort. I couldn't find it noted, but this would be impossible to do with a power drill - be sure you have one of those! SIZE & VALUE: It’s on the pricier side, but it’s also larger than any other playhouse we’ve seen. Both of our kids have plenty of room to play inside, and we’re confident we’ll get a lot of use out of it. CUSTOMIZATION: We already love how it looks, but it’s also a great blank canvas. My husband and I are excited to add some personal touches to make it even more special. ... show more

  • Mostly happy. Absolutely adorable
Love how tall this is = my girls can use it for years to come. It took some time to build but my husband and a friend managed to get it done. There were some splintered wood offshooting from where the credited holes were. After it’s been outside for less than than three months the white wash on some of the boards is coming off/fading. I did drill more holes in the flower boxes and even the sink so there wouldn’t be standing water. Bbq and oven have some features that, when you turn the buttons, there are flames that appear which is cute. I REALLY wish there was more permanent storage. Like right under the bbq area-to keep things off the ground. It would’ve been helpful. ... show more

  • Product is overpriced and quality is poor
We do not recommend this playhouse. This was one of the highest priced playhouses at $600 and we had high expectations for its quality. The quality is poor and the house will need to be sealed painted and glued. It will not hold up outside even under a covered patio. After one day in the shade, the stickers began to lift off of the barbecue and the stove. We can see it is not going to make it through the winter outside, even under the patio. It does not assemble well. There are more than 100 pieces. And many of the small stickers on each piece came off leaving you to guess. Also many pieces are not pre-drilled and some pieces had been pre-drilled but didn’t line up with anything or have a purpose. The only good thing about this playhouse is that it is larger than most. And, it does photograph well and look nice, however, the quality is poor. The only way to have longevity with this house is if you spend more money to paint it, seal it and glue it. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the product versus the price. ... show more

  • So cute with room for my two yr old to grow into
Relatively easy instructions to follow if you’re paying attention. There were some pieces of wood that weren’t perfectly straight but weren’t a problem in the long run. Once the screws grabbed on where they needed to everything was able to be pulled into place with minimal effort. It took us a couple weeks to build but that was solely due to my husband and I working on it for like an hour a week and then a couple hours one day. I think we spent a total of 4 or 5 hours on it. But we’re perfectionists and were leveling and using a speed square to make sure everything was up to snuff. We did build the bottom half in the garage to make sure everything was straight before moving it to the backyard. It was light enough to carry without the roof. Now that it’s all finished it’s super cute and I absolutely love it. So does our two year old and he’ll have several more years of use out of it, which is what I was looking for in a playhouse, one that he won’t outgrow in a year or two. There’s some cool features in the kitchen, too, like the knobs turn the “fire” on on the grill and the stove. We’ll probably grab some green floral foam to stick fake flowers in the flower pots. Overall I’m very happy with how it turned out and the quality. It’s definitely worth the price. ... show more

  • obviously will not last if left outdoors.
Shady instructions, way too intricate, too many parts, plastic parts are very bad quality and wont last.

  • Absolutely worth it - especially if you plan to paint it
I will echo what others have said: the wood came a bit unfinished looking. I planned to paint the entire plahouse, so I was not deterred by those reviews. I put the entire thing together myself with the exception of asking my husband to help me lift the biggest part of the roof on top to afix it to the house. There are other parts in the instructions that noted two people that I did not have an issue with doing solo. I layed everything out and organized it in about 15 minutes. I think this is key. Having everything organized helped tremendously. I would have loved a second drill to help with pilot holes, so I didn't have to change out bits so often. As others stated, there were several places where I found pilot holes were needed, and I was unable to complete drilling without backing out the screw and going in with a pilot hole. I thought the directions were pretty clear. I got turned around once or twice, but that was once my children were up and trying to "help." There are some extra holes in the roof that look like they should be filled, but when I looked under to see what they would possibly screw into, there was just open air. I just put wood filler there. I went ahead and put filler across all the nail holes that came from the manufacturer. I painted the entire inside, outside, door (front and back), and windows (no roof though I will likely take a sharpie to the filler), so all in all with my little helpers and drying time (mostly on the plastic parts on the door and windows), it took about 10 hours. I think if you are going to paint the plastic, use a spray paint first and then if that's not the color you want, go in with real paint so it adheres better. I spray painted the windows pink at first and then changed my mind to a light gray. The windows were easier because the standard wall paint adhered to the spray paint. When I did the plastic on the door, I had to paint it 3-4 times. My husband (6'1") and I (5'8") can both get in and out easily and stand up to our full heights inside, and the dog loves to go in and lounge. I would 100% recommend this house. I really hope my girls play with it for years to come. I love how it came out, and my daughters have been playing in it nonstop since before I was even finished. ... show more
