I bought this when our sling bookshelf (also pictured, also by Kidcraft) could no longer accommodate the number of books we had. It was easy to put together with manual tools, and the inclusion of extra hardware was a nice touch. Quality is similar to Ikea, which is to be expected for the price. Once put together, it seems sturdy enough and should last for some time. The nook area is the perfect size for my 2-year old, and the bookshelf holds quite a lot of books. The bottom shelves are shorter than the top ones, but can accommodate the standard size Dr. Seuss hardbacks with some space to spare. ... show more

We just put this on up. So my review might not be fair. I will come back by end of a month to post an update. So far, the bookcase is cute. Its perfect for my 3yo its definitely not for a 5+ Its tiny. Its not made of the best wood. But it works. We got it for 69usd. I see now it is 91usd. I would not have bought it for 91usd as there are similar or better ones for the same price. The regular 10x10 bins do not fit in the cube spaces. I managed to some how put in 2 of the 10x10 bins on the end spaces. The middle 2 spaces are smaller and there is no way you can fit a 10x10 bin there. So far im pleased with it. Works for us. My 3yo and 9mo seem to like it quite a bit too. Hope to come back in few months to post an updated review. . Ψ₯Ω† Ψ΄Ψ§Ψ‘Ψ§Ω„Ω„Ω‡ EDIT Its been a month. Still good. Whatever your religion is seriously get on your knees and pray for patience before you start. Got this for my 5 and 3 year old for Christmas. It was on sale. Lets start by saying I wish I would have read the reviews. Lets start with the building part. They dont differentiate in the pictures which sides are the brown sides and which are the white sides so after it was together I had to paint over the brown parts to match the library because it assembled wrong. Then I got about 2/3 of the way through and realized the screws were really made from Satan himself. They are supposed to just easily go inside and turn the bolt to hold it in place. Ha. Haha. Hahaha to this. 3.5 hours before I gave up and used wood glue to make sure it is stable enough. Then when you assemble the VERY last step, you realize the bolt and screw they give you do not work on a SLANTED wood piece. 2 bolts stripped because you cant get the screw into the bolt because of the angle. So Idk what Im going to do about this because its very unsturdy. On top of it it just turns to dust when youre building it. Seriously dust everywhere from the wood just being cheap as ever. It took me and my boyfriend (a construction worker) 4 hours to finish this piece of crap. It definitely will not fit my 5 year old and theres no way my 3 year old is relaxing comfortably on it. Save your money or look for something that has better reviews. I would 100% return it if I didnt paint it (which I was doing when my bf realized the screws dont work). And it will only hold maybe 10 large books. So if you have a big library for your kids good luck. ... show more

This is a cute bookshelf and seat for toddlers. It stores small/medium sized books and also fits toys. It’s sturdy and the cushion is pretty thick. I am happy with my purchase. If you’re in the process of moving like I am, make sure you have your tools handy. This requires a screwdriver to assemble.

While this item seemed absolutely wonderful for my 2.5 year old, just the right size (for her as well as her tall and short books alike), I have to give 3 stars. That might even be generous. The brand new item (ordered in white) came with black finger print smudges all over the pieces. There was smeared adhesive glue and even a few nicks and dings...all from the manufacturer. I am so disappointed at the quality assurance at Kidcraft, I will definitely rethink before buying one of their products in the future. On top of this, one important piece of hardware was not included, making the shelf unstable and unusable. The instructions were pretty straight forward...it took me about an hour+ to assemble all but the last 3 pieces (minus the time I spent looking for the missing hardware piece. I assembled all but the last 2 pieces. I will say, the little number stickers used to identify the pieces were a PAIN to get off. Some didn't come off fully. I used the back of one of the mangled stickers I peeled up to repeatedly press on top of the sticky residue until most of it came up, and repeated with each sticker thereafter (you could use some packing tape too I bet). I'd give fewer stars, but Amazon was quick to come to my assistance and offer a full, hassel free refund. I'm thankful for this. Perhaps my experience was a fluke and the quality of their products is usually better... ... show more

I needed a place to house my daughter's books and this is a great space saver and gives her a special place made just for her to read her books.
