This (and the other budget brand that begins with the letter P) are my go-to dog foods. More than one veterinarian has told me that they are perfectly fine to feed my dog. In fact, my dogs have all lived a very long time and enjoyed good health with no major illnesses before they got old (they have all had the genetic advantage of being mixed breeds). The small pieces are nice for tiny training rewards, but my dog will eat anything. Incidentally, I have noted over the years that pet food recalls usually involve premium or small-label brands. I have been buying this brand for a very long time now since I stop spending so much money on food that my 4 year old chorkies were not eating or just playing with the food. Since I introduced them to Kibbles and Bits they are healthy, their coat is shiny, they love when their feeding time is approaching. They get so happy and excited wiggling their tails and going in circles. Am glad I switched to this brand and that now they also have little bite size and they are not hard at all which is perfect for my babies because they are so small and they can now chew and enjoy their meals. ... show more

Personally, I did not try it. I have a family of feral cats that have moved into live underneath my shed. I could not see them go hungry, so I begin feeding them and hoping someone would come and take them to a rescue shelter. However, I learned that shelters do not want feral cats, so they have become my responsibility. I think perhaps that this is too big a size kibble for these kittens. They are about 6 to 7 months old and they don’t seem to eat as much of the food as they did a previous brand that I had bought and the only thing I can see that is different about it is the size . My dog can't wait for dinner. I have to put the food in a slow feed dog bowl (also bought from Amazon). He gets so excited when it is time for his Kibbles n Bits. It is difficult to buy food for small dogs in large bags. This solves the problem.
