  • Works great; just seal it correctly.
The media could not be loaded. This allows us to ground our own coffee beans to ensure the freshest cup of morning coffee. It takes a minute or so more than just dropping a prepackaged K cup into the machine, but the taste is worth it. Have used this universal K cup for about a month and don’t plan on going back to the pods anytime soon. ... show more

  • Gives you an alternative
UPDATE 8/19/2018 I use it every morning now. I got the hang of it, the measurement, etc. Works great. The cost per cup is less than 1/10th that of the cups/ Oh yes, I still use the cups, but my main usage is this one. The cost of this is 1) the coffee and 2) the filters. Highly recommended . Got my new coffee maker last week (the Elite Series), then once I learned how to use it, bought this. First off, when received, it had two sets of instructions, for the Plus and the Classic. Nothing on the Elite. I then figured out thru a web site and this one that I had to remove the adapter first, So then I leaned how to load and unload it. Next was figuring out how to put a filter in (recommended by most of my friends), put the coffee in, then close it up. Again trial and error, the unit top was a little warped, but I got it to work. I then ran my first batch of coffee. It wasn't bad. I will continue to learn until I reach the pinnacle of coffee nirvana. Still, the design for assembly could be a bit better. It is sometimes hard to put the top cap on the filter, (assemble and twist to secure). It is mostly trial and error. A good knowledaeble engineer can design one if they put the effort into customer friendly design, The key is now I can use up my existing coffee stock, and save money in the long run. I will still use the cups of course, but there are somethings you cannot get in a K-Cup. However, I also believe if you get a Keurig, you must get one of these, de-scaler, and water filters to go with it. It was worth it to me. Regardless of some issues, it is well worth it. For the price, it will pay for itself in about 16-20 cups of coffee made. ... show more

  • A little more complex than I had anticipated.
Works perfectly with my K-Express. Good strong coffee. YouTube videos were helpful for the first cup. Much more pricey than the off brands but works well.

  • Easy to use? Only if you don’t want to switch to a regular K-Cup on the next brew.
I feel the need to point this out since this aspect of this product is not clearly stated anywhere in the description: this does NOT simply “pop” into your Keurig machine. You MUST remove the “holder” and swap it out EVERY TIME you use it versus regular K-Cups. The first photo shows how the holder DOES NOT FIT without first removing the holder shown in the second photo. You must remove it to use this product properly. I purchased 2 of these along with a K55 brewer for my husband’s birthday, since I figured Keurig-brand reusable cups should be better quality and perhaps easier to use than some of the non-Keurig reusable cups. When I first opened the boxes, I thought the quality seemed fairly nice and durable. I disasembled them to wash, tossed the boxes into the recycle bin without thinking twice, and set the pieces out to dry in preparation for the next day’s cup of coffee. Filling it was simple enough, though fitting the lid back on is a little confusing since there’s no click or snap to tell you if it’s actually fully pushed into the rubber seal. What I didn’t realize, though, is that once you put the base on and lock it into place, it’s too dang tall to actually fit in the brewer. Some people have mentioned this in their reviews and incorrectly assumed that it didn’t fit their brewer. It’s more likely that they didn’t realize you have to first remove the K-Cup holder before you can insert this thing in its place. That might be ok, except for the fact that we brew 2 cups of coffee every morning, and while he likes his standard coffee, I enjoy an actual K-Cup... because isn’t the point of having a Keurig to pretty much have the ability to brew everyone’s favorite in a single-cup form? So basically if he wants his regular cup of joe, and I want my fancy K-Cup, we have to swap this and the regular holder out every morning... and any time we want another cup of coffee during the day. I wouldn’t be rating this so low except for the fact that this product is pretty much pushing false information in the description. It clearly states: “The Keurig My K-Cup universal reusable filter is a simple and convenient way to brew your favorite ground Coffee using your Keurig Coffee maker... Brewing your favorite ground Coffee is easier than ever; just fill the My K-Cup reusable filter to one of the two fill lines, then pop it into your Keurig Coffee maker and in no time, you'll be enjoying a cup of hot, delicious Coffee.” Um, no. Actually I’ll just be frustrated because I’ll be running on no caffeine AND having to deal with trying to get the dang holder to pop in and out as needed. Overall, I would ONLY recommend this product to people who NEVER or hardly ever use standard K-Cups, since you’re going to have to be swapping it out constantly with the standard holder if you want to use it at all. I only hope I can return them and get at least half of my money back. For how much I love Keurig, I just can’t with this product. ... show more

  • Special considerations for Keurig K-Duo Plus with My K-Cup
I purchased a My K-Cup for use with my Keurig K-Duo Plus coffee maker. It is claimed that this cup is compatible with K-Duo Plus (both on Amazon and by Keurig), it is not at all straight-forward. To use it: 1. You have to remove the Plus series adapter (even though it is being used with a maker with "PLUS" in the name). This is contrary to the documentation provided with the product, and on the web sites. 2. You have to remove the existing K-cup holder that is in the coffee maker. Nowhere is this procedure documented for the K-Duo Plus. Calling Keurig support, I was told to "just push up on the holder, underneath where the coffee comes out" On the K-Duo Plus, the cup holder is over an internal space, and the coffee travels laterally to the point where it drips into the cup. (the support personnel I talked and chatted with did not seems to be familiar with K-Duo Plus) I found that if you insert you index finger into this channel, you can push up on the cup holder to get it to release without too much pressure. Not something that is intuitively obvious to the user. Alternatively, if you grab the cup holder firmly around its edge, it will come out with some jostling. But there is a high risk of puncturing the back of your hand on the top spike when the cup holder comes loose. Keurig engineers seriously need to re-evaluate both approaches -- neither scores real high from a safety perspective. My experience was with the "Keurig My K-Cup Reusable K-Cup Pod Coffee Filter", but I expect the situation would be similar with "Universal Reusable Coffee Filter for Keurig My K Cup Pod Coffee Makers" when used with the K-Duo Plus. ... show more
