Description

Keurig Descaling Solution is an important step to cleaning and caring for your Keurig coffee maker. When used every 3 months, or as often needed, Keurig Descaling Solution safely and effectively cleanses and removes mineral buildup from inside your coffee maker which can affect brewer performance, taste, and quality of your beverages. An important step of your Keurig coffee maker maintenance routine, Keurig Descaling Solution keeps your coffee maker clean, performing at its peak, and beverages tasting their best. Keurig Descaling Solution is the only Keurig recommended cleaning solution to be used with all Keurig coffee makers. Descaling is an important process that cleans the inside of your coffee maker. Over time, calcium deposits called scale can build up inside your coffee maker. If left unchecked, these buildups can affect the performance of your coffee maker and taste of your beverages. Keurig Descaling Solution is an effective, fast-acting, and odorless solution which helps clean and remove calcium and mineral deposits to keep your coffee maker clean and brewing at its best. To preserve longevity of your coffee maker, we recommend using Keurig Descaling Solution every 3 months or as often as needed (depending on the mineral content of your water, you may need to descale more frequently). Keurig Descaling Solution is compatible with all Keurig coffee makers.

  • Keurig Descaling solution is the best for cleaning the scale off the inside of your ...
Keurig Descaling solution is the best for cleaning the scale off the inside of your brewer and keeping it running in top shape. I have a Keurig 2.0 brewer and this keeps it clean and fresh for my beverages. Regular use of this product will keep calcium deposits to a minimum and is essential for the maintenance of the heating element. The procedure I use is as follows: This applies to K-Cup, Vue, Rivo, and Keurig 2.0 brewers. 1. Empty the water reservoir and remove the filter (if applicable). Turn the brewer off by holding the power button. 2. Put the whole bottle in the reservoir. 3. Turn the brewer on and put a large mug on the drip plate. 4. Run the solution through the brewer and discard the liquid in the sink until the brewer displays "add water". 5. Leave the brewer on and allow the solution to sit in the lines for 30 minutes. 6. Remove the water reservoir and thoroughly rinse it out in the sink. Then fill it with fresh water and run three tanks of fresh water through the machine. This ensures that all of the solution is washed out of the lines. Then all you have to do is replace the filter if you removed it earlier and brew your favorite K-cup. There is a section on the directions on the bottle that talks about a "foam" coming out of the brewer in the case of heavily scaled machines, but I have not personally experienced this. If your Keurig is older and you have never descaled it you may see this but I normally run the descaling solution through my machine about once every 3-4 months. You will be happy with the performance of your brewer after doing this and it can make an old machine run like brand new!! I highly recommend it! ... show more

  • It's fine
My Keurig is in constant use and never once lit up saying it needed descaling. I guess you're supposed to do this every few months, so I got this to do it. I don't really notice any flavor difference. I can only guess it does what it supposed to. It's fine, but a little expensive.

  • Vinegar works great. But if you have a clogged pot... this stuff actually worked great.
I admit - I'm a vinegar cleaner. I use Vinegar in my Cuisinart machine monthly, and I don't have a problem. BUT - I bought a Cuisinart for my parents. My mom is a clean freak, so I didn't expect the coffee pot to get so dirty. But the filter holder broke, and Amazon doesn't sell them. Cuisinart has them backordered. So she had several months of scale built up in the machine, and it took several minutes to pull in enough water to brew a cup. My mom also cleans with vinegar. But with this much buildup, the vinegar didn't clean out the tubes very well. I paid $12.99 for this and thought it would allow me to clean my pot and hers for a while. Didn't realize you had to use it all in one shot! But I have to admit - it cleaned up the tubes just fine, and now it pulls water though like it did when it was brand new. The key to descaling - no matter what method you use - is to turn OFF the auto-off timer and let the stuff soak in the machine for a few hours. Cuisinart recommends 4, but your mileage may vary. So clean with vinegar, let it soak while you go to work, and flush it out when you get home. Once a month and you will not have a problem. BUT IF YOUR PARENTS/SPOUSE/FRIEND does not do this to their machine and you are called in to the rescue, this stuff will do the trick. ... show more

  • It works. Basic chemistry in action. Recommended flushing routine is a pain though. Plan on an hour or so.
It works. It's easy to use. I don't know what other people are talking about with it being impossible to flush and leaving a chemical taste after days of use. I followed the directions and it performed exactly as described. No problem flushing. No after taste. Either my taste buds are not very sensitive or some people are doing this all wrong. Also, I live in New England. We tend to have extremely low mineral content in our water. Our water is generally flowing through granite. No one has a water softening system. There is essentially zero limestone to put calcium carbonate / magnesium carbonate in our water. So descaling is not much of a problem here. I know that other parts of the country have a much bigger problem with hard water and therefore descaling. Consequently, while I pretty much ignore the recommended descaling schedule and do it once or twice a year, you may not be able to get away that if you're in an area with hard water and everyone in your area is running a whole house water softener. ... show more
