Description

Kester 44 rosin flux is an activated rosin formula for use in flux-cored solder wire. Kester 44 rosin flux has virtually dominated the field of activated rosin core solders for well over four decades. An outstanding performance feature of this flux is the "instant-action" wetting behavior. The high mobility and fast-spreading action of this flux results in more reliable production line soldering.

  • Kester Never Disappoints
Style: Rosin Core Solder
Good solder makes a big difference! Kester solder is worlds better than other brands that I've tried.

  • Very Good
Style: Rosin Core Solder
It works very well. I had no issues using this solder. It came perfectly coiled and packaged. My only issue was the tape they used to secure the spool inside the cardboard container. It is secured with a packing tape. This tape was impossible to remove without damaging the paper label on the spool. So now the spool has no information on it. It is a simple fix with a pen. However, I prefer the factory print over my own atrocious handwriting. That is literally the only negative and that is a small gripe. ... show more

  • Life changer.
Style: Rosin Core Solder
For years I've been soldering with a generic wire, using a flux pen to compensate for the lack of flux inside of it. Then one day someone in one of the forums suggested I use a Kester wire. This is seriously life changing. No more soldering frustrations for me, the wire melts right into the perf board holes without any trouble. Just a note - this thing is heavy. You're going to need a soldering station or some sort of a holder. ... show more

  • It's the best
Style: Rosin Core Solder
After years of struggling to solder a single connection, I upgraded my equipment from the $20 kit you get at hardware stores to a Hakko set. But I still didn't change my solder out until a friend who works in electronics told me to get this spool. While the price is high if you don't solder often, trust me, this is worth it 100x over. I went from barely being able to make a connection to feeling like a pro. I rebuilt a melted engine wiring harness where I had to cut and reuse nearly every connector because of lack of availability. After soldering no less than 200 wires together, from 14-20awg wire sizes. I still have more than 3/4 of this spool left. I'm sure it will last me at least another few years. Make sure to protect yourself against the fumes. Either good ventilation, or be dumb like me and hold your breath for small repairs. ... show more

  • Quality American solder
Style: Rosin Core Solder
Got tired of the Chinese solder I kept buying, so I bought this. It's flawlessly shiny, and the smell reminded me of how soldier should smell, just like dad's old rosin core Kester. But yeah, avoid the Chinese crap. Good solder isn't even much more expensive.

  • Kester solder is the best
Style: Rosin Core Solder
Works great on all my small soldering projects around the house. I've used it on circuit boards and on joining wires and it melts and flows perfectly. I chose the 63/37 solder because 63/37 solder is made of 63% tin and 37% lead. It has a melting point of 183°C, slightly lower than the more common 60/40 blend. Eutectic solders like the 63/37 are easier to work with as there is no semi-solid point when melting it, like there is with 60/40 solder. It's worth the slightly higher cost if you are working with delicate electronics. It works great with my Hakko FX888D-23BY Digital Soldering Station where I can dial in just the right temperature for each soldering project. ... show more

  • You Can't Go Wrong With This Kester Rosin Core Solder
Style: Rosin Core Solder
This is the first time I use Kester solder. I've been using cheap sometimes questionable solder for more than a year and I was most of the time left unsatisfied or frustrated. And then I decided to give this Kester 63/37 1lb spool a try. That was one of the best decisions I ever made. I don't want to use your time explaining anything. Just go with Kester solder and see for yourself. ... show more
