Wasn't really sure if I would like these boot because of the back of the boot being fabric. I LOVE them. But... they run large. I wear a size 7. I was sent a size 6. When I saw they were a size 6 I immediately thought I would have to return them. But to my surprise they fit perfectly, even with a pair of heavier socks. I have very thin calves, most boots are too wide at the top. These boots fit my leg perfectly. The fabric stretches so someone with a LITTLE wider calf could wear them comfortably. This boot I would not recommend for someone with larger calves. This boot is only 10.5" calf circumference, which fit my 11" calf circumference perfectly. So anyone needing a smaller calf circumfrence, this is the boot for you. They come right up to my knee, I am 5'1" and 105 pounds. The quality is very good. Quality leather and well made. These boots are perfect! I don’t consider myself a person with skinny calves, but every other boot I was trying had my calves floating. These are absolutely what I was looking for and so far they don’t seem to be bothering my feet, which are somewhat flat and I have bunions. I’m wearing them to a show tomorrow so if they turn out to make my feet ache, I’ll update my review. These boots look fabulous and are comfortable out of the box. They fit my slim 13" calf perfectly and could stretch a bit wider than that, too. The back is a very stretchy fabric. I ended up sending these back because I had to choose between 2 pair and the other pair was just THAT good but these puppies are definitely going back on my Wish List for another day. ... show more

Size: 8.5 Color: Black Leather
The Good: Visually, these boots are 5-star winners. The leather quality is solid, and the narrow shaft provides a sleek, tailored silhouette that is perfect for those with slimmer calves who usually struggle with "gaping" boot tops. The long zipper makes them easy to put on. The Dealbreaker: Despite the looks, these are functionally unwearable. The internal plastic heel counter is built too high and is incredibly rigid. With every step, the top edge of this plastic digs directly into the bottom of the ankle bones. The Failed "Fix": I attempted to remedy this with thick heel inserts to elevate my foot above the plastic edge. However, because the boot is so sleekly designed, there isn't enough vertical volume (instep room) to accommodate an insert without making the boot painfully tight across the top of the foot. The Verdict: This is a fundamental failure in understanding foot anatomy. Unless your ankle bones sit unusually high, these will cause bruising and pain. A real shame, as the aesthetic is exactly what I was looking for. ... show more

This pair of size 11 boots is sturdy, looks good, and is very comfortable. The stretched backing allows my calf to feel less restricted. The zipper provides for easy on and off access. This pair of boots is good value for the money.

Size: 8 Color: Black Leather
For the foot: I’m a shoe size 8, and in boots usually an 8.5. I like to have a little room in case I wear socks or thick tights. 8.5 wasn’t available so I went with 8 and boy, I could have gone down to 7.5 because they run huge! I had at LEAST and inch and half of toe space. Not what I was expecting from reviews which said to go with your regular size and not to size up. For the calf: Now, I know these are supposed to be "slim fit" but wasn’t expecting them to be this tight. I am tall with fairly slim calves - not skinny, but apparently slim enough that all other boots I’ve tried in recent years had the problem of flopping around my legs like pirate boots. So I figured either today’s boots are poorly made or I’ve got thin calves! So I read the reviews on this boot and thought maybe this was my answer. Lo and behold , they were the opposite extreme. They were so tight I could barely zip them up, and the next day I had rashes on both calves, just from trying them on! In conclusion: this is an attractive, well-made boot which I’m sure is perfect for anyone with extra narrow calves, and I am very disappointed they don’t fit. I will be returning these. I've been hunting for snug-fitting tall shaft boots for years, but I have narrow calves (14 inches at the widest part) and I always end up looking like I'm standing in buckets. Not so with these boots!! They are perfectly snug, and super glamorous. The leather is sooo soft, and they are extremely comfy in the footbed. For reference, I am 5'5" & these stand just exactly below the knee. I am normally a size 37 / 6.5 - 7, and I ordered these in 6.5. They fit well! My only mild disappointment was that the picture shows black suede boots, but they are regular leather. I was looking for suede, but I don't even care because I love them so much!
