  • Good quality and comfortable riding shirt
Size: Medium
Excellent product. Shirt is lightweight even with pads installed. I was concerned about the long sleeves, but with the mesh fabric it feels great in warm temperatures. The pads are good quality and fit in the slots very well. I would highly recommend this.

Summer riding's hot, especially if the engine's running hot and there's no deflection of any kind. That makes a lot of people forsake skid gear like this armored mesh shirt. First of all, it's a long sleeve and the sleeves aren't baggy. Even though they're mesh like the rest of the shirt, they're fitted contoured to the arms that way to hold the armored bits in place in case you ever do have a skid fest. The sleeves also have a thumb loop to keep the airflow from peeling them back and allowing slack in that sleeve's elbow cup and forearm armor. By the way, the zipper is on the left side, like for lady riders ... but this shirt's a unisex garment. I can cope with that. Four pockets are included and they're separate from each other: two open interior pockets and two zippered exterior pockets, overlapping on each side. I think putting things into any of those will inhibit the airflow through the shirt. There's a nice large back armor piece, two shoulder cups, two elbow cups, and two breastpads. I would probably not use the breastpads, opting instead for the airflow. The armor is a flexible, thick, sacrificial type of synthetic rubber, very shock-absorbing and flexible. My thoughts regarding the elbow and shoulder cups are that they might prevent some asphalt rash, but not for long. The sleeves would twist with the road surface in an instant ... but in an impact with an object, these would probably spare the rider of some blunt force trauma. It's an armored shirt with limitations, but it beats a short sleeved Tee Shirt hands-down. I'm dropping a star for the lack of instructions and the sizing inaccuracies. Four Stars. One word of caution from a guy with a modest paunch: select a full size up ... because items made in Asia often seem to be on the smallish side of what folks here wear. I can wear this shirt, no real fproblem ... but the pockets are very tight and can hold very little. I should have kicked up to XXL. The armor bits arrive separately from the shirt and must be inserted into elastic double-flapped pockets on the inside. There are no instructions as to exactly where they go ... but I figured that out. If I can figure it out, you can. One tip: fold the armor like a taco and make doubly sure the ribbed part goes to the outside of the pocket ... the skid side. Also, turn the sleeves inside out or you'll never get them into the pockets. You can fold the sleeves right-side-out after installing the armor into them. KemiMoto makes some very fine products for all kinds of sports and this shirt's no exception. I had to manhandle the shirt while installing the armor and nothing got torn. The reflective patches on the outside show brilliantly in the night; I like that very much. I'm dropping a star for sizing inaccuracies and lack of instructions for installing the armor. Four stars! ... show more

  • Breezy and stretchy! Breezy and stretchy!
Size: X-Large
This item is correctly listed as a shirt and that's what it is. It's thin, lightweight and breezy. The mesh allows air in and keeps you cool. At speed (75 mph), it rippled a good bit around the back of my arm, creating a slapping sensation. It wasn't enough to hurt but if you're riding long distances, you may want to add some extra padding around your arm. The silicone grips at the hem of the shirt are a nice touch and I feel like they were good at helping keep the shirt in place. There is a reflective design on the back between where your shoulder blades would be for visibility. The cuff of each sleeve also includes a sewn-in strap that you can wrap around your thumb or any finger of your choice, keeping the sleeves fully extended. Excellent addition to the closet of the new rider or veteran. ... show more

The product I am reviewing is "KEMIMOTO Motorcycle Mesh Armored Shirt for Men&Women, with CE Certified Protective Gear Shirt, Breathable, Soft for All Seasons" Review: KEMIMOTO Mesh Armored Shirt Tested on: Kawasaki Ninja 500 (Street/Highway) As a fan of Kemimoto gear—I already use their shoes and phone mounts—I picked up this armored shirt to layer into my daily riding kit. Here is how it stacks up: Setup & Fit Size is large. I'm about 5 ft 9 in tall, 175 lb, average build. Assembly Required: The armor inserts arrived loose. Most were easy to install, though the elbow pads were tricky; you’ll need to turn the sleeves inside out to seat them correctly. Layering: The thumb loops are a great touch. They keep the sleeves from bunching up when you’re sliding a hoodie or jacket over the top. Bulk: It feels comfortable while riding, but the pads feel a bit heavy and bulky during off-bike activities. Performance & Style Breathability: The mesh is lightweight and flows air well, though the weight of the CE-certified pads is noticeable. Aesthetics: This is definitely an undershirt. It’s not particularly attractive on its own for casual public wear. It’s best suited for wearing under a hoodie that you can swap out at your destination. Versatility: While it looks a bit "techy" for a restaurant, it would be perfect for off-road/competitive riding or hanging around a campfire with buddies after a long day. Safety: The added reflective strips are a nice bonus for visibility during night rides. Final Verdict A solid, breathable layer for those who want flexible protection under their regular clothes. It’s functional and comfortable in the saddle, even if it won't win any fashion awards at the local cafe. At the $75 price point, I feel it is a bit on the high side. But keep in mind it is for safety, and it is from a good brand. ... show more
