  • Oddly smallish, yet works for my thinner foot.
Size: 9 Color: Canteen/Andorra
They are so cute in the red shade, and while I did have to remove my thickest socks to wear these, I can still wear a decently thick sock and had zero issues on my first short hike on a wet trail after rain. If your feet are plump, these will not work well. I have Sideshow Bob feet. My daughter loved her Keen hiking sneakers and after my Ahnu boots sustained critical damage after 7 years of valiant service on Guadeloupe Mountain, I knew it was time to consider new boots for safety. When not in the wilderness I wear Easy Spirit as my favorite walker. Just hope these details will help you decide if these are right for you. Also, I got this through the Amazon Warehouse program and I was very pleased by my purchase. Despite the fact they seem to have been returned, they were a great find. ... show more

  • Very good but runs slightly small...NOT WIDE they may strech at little
Size: 7.5 Color: Magnet/Ocean Wave
I read reviews for Keen products and decided to size up. I bought a size 8 in the Targhee 2 Mid Height and they were too big. My feet were floating and they did kind of look like clodhoppers. I returned and bought these in a 7.5. They are snug but getting more comfortable. UPDATE: I went ahead and bought another pair - sized up and they fit better. My regular size is a little tight but ok if I take out the inserts - but I want the inserts so I bought an 8. These are NOT WIDE fit - the Targhee pair was too wide. Now I have 2 pair - that is OK. ... show more

  • Great shoe
Size: 8.5 Color: Black/Magnet
Context: I’m in law enforcement. I was looking for a more comfortable shoe to wear for work that weren’t the typical tactical boot style. These are awesome! I love the way they look. I’ve spent many long days in them already and they stay comfortable. They’re also easy to run in if I need to, which I can’t say for any tactical boot I’ve ever owned. I’ definitely buy these again. ... show more

  • 4 Star out of abundance of caution
Size: 9 Color: Magnet/Ocean Wave
I've rated this boot 4 star out of an abundance of caution. Full disclosure, this is my first Keen purchase and I did return them. I returned them because they were smaller than expected, and I'm not sure if I would need a half or whole size larger. It's just too complicated, so I'll sit on it a while longer before I decide to try again or go back to other brands I'm already used to. I have a somewhat narrow size 9 female foot - I wear 8.5 in most dress shoes and 9 in most tennis shoes and boots. I wear hiking and work shoes almost every day. My favorite boots are no longer in stock and so I gave Keen a try. This boot seemed very comparable to a boot I loved to death in the brand rhyming with Kimbermand. This boot seemed worthy and well made, as well as repairable. If I had tried the boot for a year and it served it's purpose, I would have given a 5 star. ... show more

  • Alittle tight
Size: 8.5 Color: Canteen/Andorra
Got in my normal size for summer hiking boots, used daily on at my job. Over all the boot is lite weight and has okay tread in mild wet conditions and is okay for light rain. My only issue w the boots is the toe seems tight and when hiking down hill on steep terrian it becomes painful. But even after 90+miles of hiking there has been no broken seems, cracks, or damage done. ... show more

  • Sturdy light-hiker, room for customizing your arch support/insole, roomy toe box, 2 hooks at top
I have worn Keen Targhee IIs for 5 years and worn out 2 pair, enjoying them a lot, but sometimes finding them clumsy when going down slippery slopes when tired. I wanted something with a lower heel, but still having ankle protection and good traction and waterproof. These seem to match that. These are more like a heavy duty rubberized high top sneaker than a typical hiking boot. They are lighter, yet seem like they will hold up well. The heel is only slightly higher than the toe. You can sense large rocks or indentations in the ground underneath, which I like. The insole is nearly flat and very thin and removable with ample room so that you could easily replace it with Superfeet or some other insole you prefer if you want more support. When I first put them on, I thought that the seem at the upper ankle would irritate me, but I decided it is just a matter of finding the right tightness to lace them. I find the ankle and above area a little less comfortable than the Targhee IIs but think it will be okay with thicker socks...I was wearing fairly thin just over the ankle socks. Unsure whether the ankle would be uncomfortable, I just wore them all day the first day doing yard work and they felt fine. The 2nd day, I work them on a 5 mile moderately up and down hike over single tracks, light mud, gravel, crossing creeks on rocks and they were comfortable. I think I will have better traction in them than the Targhee IIs because they are more flexible and more level, making them less clumsy. I think I'll be less likely to slip on gravel in them or turn my ankle on uneven ground, being able to sense the ground through them more. The 3rd day, I tested the waterproofing. A week earlier, I had worn my old Targhee IIs walking 1 mile through knee-high wet grass and my feet had been soaked, so I decided to try it in these. I didn't notice my feet feeling wet while walking, but when I took off my boots and socks, my wool socks were slightly damp at the toe and heel...it may have been water coming in from the top or dripping down from my pants, which were thoroughly soaked below the knee. In summary, Additionally, the laces seem to come untied, which can be corrected by double-knotting them, but one thing I appreciate about the Targhee IIs is that the laces always stay firmly in place. I find them less comfortable above the ankle than the Traghee IIs, but they are lighter and the soles are comfortable, and I think they provide more agility and stability because of the heel being lower and being able to sense the ground better. ... show more

  • Great quality but runs small
Size: 12 Color: Magnet/Ocean Wave
I love Keen shoes. This is a beautiful boot but it is way too small. I wear a women's 11/11.5. This boot is a size 12 and even with thin socks, my toes were hitting the end of the shoe. Will have to return.
