These are my first pair of Keens and hiking shoes! This pair I got were labeled as in Very Good Condition. Which mean they were returned. I was concerned intentionally Bc I’ve never gotten shoes from Amazon that weren’t new. But for the price and I got them for at least half the price , it was too good of a deal to pass up! So I went ahead and ordered them. Besides a few nicks and scratches in the leather they are in excellent condition! They fit great. I’m normally a size 7 in athletic shoes so I ordered a 7 in these. I got these mainly to wear to work since I work outside a lot and in all weather especially rain. I can’t wait to test them out on the next rainy day and hopefully not more soaked sneakers for me!     • Solid shoe with a few fit problems

Obviously everyone's foot is built differently. I am a solid 6.5 in most every shoe I try on. My arch is average I would say...not too high and certainly not flat. After a few days of wearing these shoes, which are solid construction and materials, they are starting to feel comfortable. Initially, the heel was slipping so I really cranked down the shoe laces, which then made the shoe feel too tight. As they are starting to break in, they are feeling better. The insole was very stiff to begin with and either my foot is getting used to it or it is starting to mold to my foot. Either way, I think they will work well with a few more miles on them. Not my most comfortable shoe out of the box but for the price and quality of construction, I'm hoping with time they will become a favorite. ... show more

Soon as I slid my feet into these shoes, I could swear I heard, “Welcome home.” I have bunyons, that used to be huge, now shrinking due to focused excercise (yes, it’s true, excercise will correct this better than any surgery, with no down time). Still I don’t wear shoes that tend to run narrow. These are oerfect. Wore many active hours the very first time. Even ordered a second pair. Presidios (with my own insoles) were favorites up until they changed. Nothing could compare (despite fact that they were ugly). These surpassed by far in looks and comfort. Didn’t even have to change insoles. No pains or discomfort. Just bliss. Hope they don’t change these. ... show more

Right out of the box the Targhee 3 low quarters were pretty and obviously high quality. Heavy duty and tough but pliable. Love that color! Wife immediately tried them on and kept them on for over 8 hours. That was a big deal. Said they were a perfect fit, size 8. Like a pair of slippers with support. She is very picky so that said a lot. She said it was one of the best shoes she has had. So very short break in period. She wore them a second day as well and praised them. Tomorrow we plan a 1 mile short hike to further test them but I don't anticipate any issues. They are ready!. On Sunday she will do trail running in them. She normally runs 3 miles. If there are any issues I will update the review. Very affordable sale price too, more expensive at the big box stores. Saved me money for beer! Hoot !!! Happy Holidays. BEST TO UPGRADE THE INSERTS AND THE LACES. Use Keen 20s for inserts and non-slip medium round laces. World of difference. Nicer! ... show more

I go on a 6-mile walk every morning around a near by lake and usually my walking shoe sneakers are just fine. However, when the weather turned, I'd end up with wet and/or cold feet. Not fun! So taking matters in hand, I began looking for a sturdier, well-made hiking shoe. After canvassing local stores, I once again ended up looking online. These Keen shoes have been great. It has been raining in southern California so much that I needed to buy some water resistant boots. Well after a few days of looking for a good boot these made the cut. I put them on for a few days and they are amazing. Other than keeping my toes dry they were also super comfortable and warm. I ordered these and a pair of Merrells. I kept the Merrells. Two reasons - the Merrells actually provided my foot with better support (everyone's feet are different) and the left foot / shoe had the support in the middle of the foot instead of where the instep should be. I really wanted to like these shoes. They are very well made and have a nice stiff sole which I prefer when walking in icy conditions. The size was spot on. I wear an 8 and the size 8 fit perfectly. I had to return them because they were too high near my ankle and were painful to wear.
