  • Great boots, just like one can expect from Keen
Color: Goat/Crown Blue Size: 7.5
Fit great, comfortable, and sturdy.

  • The reviews are accurate: good fit and comfort for problematic feet
Color: Goat/Crown Blue Size: 7.5
I recently replaced my 20 year old heavy duty Columbias when their soles actually fell off during a hike. I'd been a bit envious of friends that had modern lighter boots that travel better. I bought these after I read two of the reviews that spoke to me, one being Nancy's "5.0 out of 5 stars Great for hikers with bunions!" where she and others also mention that the heel is good for us that have flipper feet: wide toes, narrow ankles. I also have had great experience with Keenes although I don't rely on brand names usually. I've worn these boots on two long and "hard" hikes so far without breaking them in. They've been great! Nancy and others are right about the toes, ankles and overall comfort. I'm guessing they will serve me well for several years of hiking and backpacking and traveling! ... show more

  • Love these boots!
Color: Slate Black/Flint Stone Size: 8.5
I’m a farmer and work outside a lot. These boots are my favorite. I’ve bought several pair. They honestly last me about a year but that’s daily wear outside. They are comfortable and I love them.

  • Great!
Color: Slate Black/Flint Stone Size: 8.5
These hiking boots are great. I was concerned that I didn’t have a chance to break them in prior to hiking. Did an 8 mile moderate hike and my feet held up swimmingly. Good support, great grip all around a great hiking option.

  • Great Hiking Boot - Would Buy Again!
Color: Goat/Crown Blue Size: 10.5
I live and work in Yellowstone National Park so I am on my feet and out hiking and backpacking in all types of terrain and weather. I have had these hiking boots for about 4 years now and they have held up great. See photos. Pros: I have plantar fasciitis and have to have hiking boots with good arch support and since switching to these, no more foot pain. I love the wider toe box as my foot is a bit wide and it gives my foot more space in the front when hiking on inclines where your foot tends to slip forward. They are waterproof and I have never ended up with wet feet when wearing them. I also love that you can order inserts to replace the old ones. Cons: The inserts tend to hold odor and I have had to replace them a couple of times. They cost around $30-$40 per pair. The hiking boots are a bit heavy and can result in a bit of foot fatigue on long backcountry hikes. The outside and sole have held up much better than any previous hiking boots I have owned but the inside is a bit worn. Some of the threading on the exterior is also starting to fray a bit. Overall, I highly recommend these for anyone with plantar fasciitis or anyone looking for a durable and comfortable hiking boot. ... show more

  • Order half size up for length. Width is ample.
So happy with these boots and that’s saying a lot since I have so many foot problems. It’s always worrisome to buy shoes online so I’ll try to describe these best I can. First of all I won’t be making any 20 mile hikes. I’m over 70 and need boots to allow for my farm chores and bad weather, not mountain climbing, but if these work for me, how much better for those who are young and spry. I’ve overweight and my feet tend to swell quite a bit, plus I have fused big toe joints. I can no longer get tall boots on at all and even regular tennies can pose a problem if I can’t open them wide. I need a big toe box and decent width, but have narrow heels. I need a cushiony insole, but also arch support (flat feet), low heel to toe height ratio and a rocker bottom to help with my stride because of bad ankles. It seems an impossible set of requirements. So it was with great trepidation that I ordered these boots. Pretty much all I can wear anymore is what my grandchildren call my ‘Air Grammas’, thick leather New Balance shoes with a wide tongue and stabilizing sole. Boots and shoes I could wear previously have been relegated to the back of the closet. These include Mephisto walkers and Timberland and Ariat boots among others. Heels too high, tongues too narrow, not enough flexibility or too much, you name it. These boots offer easy on/off while even having an attached tongue to aid in waterproofing. The toe box is ample and the width good, but you have to order a half size up for length. I did that and they are perfect. Even though the toe box width is generous, the heel is narrow enough to eliminate slippage. The built-in ankle stabilization is very helpful and the modified rocker bottom makes walking relatively easy for me, which is quite something. Few boots offer that. The padded ankle collar and height is very comfortable. The sole at the heel is not much higher than that at the toe which also makes walking easier for me. The sole is sturdy, but flexible at the same time. The mid-foot support is surprisingly good for my flat feet and although I often replace insoles with orthotics or other insoles to help my various problems, the ones that come in these boots are great just as they are. Normally I wear a 9B although on some shoes the B is too tight. That’s a problem with my narrow heels because a wide width affects heel width too. I bought these in 9.5B and they are perfect. I kept the packing, so sure was I that I’d have to return the boots, but it can all go out now. There will be no return. Very happy indeed. ... show more

  • Surprisingly they are not waterproof…But KEEN stood by their warranty!
Color: Slate Black/Flint Stone Size: 8
As a previous Keen purchaser I chose these boots based on my experience with previous models/styles and have been very happy with their fit and comfort. However, I’m a weekend warrior and I’ve been out in muddy conditions once and both boots leaked and my feet were soaked through and I hiked out this morning in a light rain and again my feet were soaked. Sadly these boots are of no use to me. I purchased these on 4/30 as it’s 6/9 today and the return window has closed as of 5/31 I’m stuck with boots that are of no use to me, since I cannot utilize them as they were designed to be. They are not waterproof whatsoever as advertised. I’m quite disappointed Update: I decided to contact KEEN and their customer service was outstanding! The first agent helped me through the warranty claim process and suggested replacement models. I quickly received approval and with guidance of another wonderful agent she helped me find a model. I’m eagerly awaiting my new hiking boots. Thank you KEEN!! ... show more
