Weighing 14.2 oz / 402.6 g (per boot), made with durable, waterproof and salt-resistant leather and featuring a moisture-wicking lining, the Targhee 2 Waterproof Hiking Boot is built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. KEEN products are consciously created using PFC-free water repellent, P.E.T. recycled plastic bottles (in applicable styles) and leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries. I didn’t get to wear these on a hike so I can’t comment on that. However, for me, who has never had problems with shoes being too wide before, found these too wide. My heel would slip in the shoe every time I took a step. The foot bed was wide too but that might have been alright in the long run. Even laced up as tight as these would go, they still weren’t tight enough to prevent my foot from slipping. They were so wide, I went back to my order to see if I’d accidentally ordered a wide but I see that a wide isn’t even available. So I’m returning them. ... show more

My wife is a size 7 in all her other shoes. We had to return the size 7 as they were too loose on her feet, even with a mid weight hiking sock. We reordered the 6-1/2 and they fit perfectly. She loves the fit, function and style.

    • Finally a boot I can wear

I was trying to find new hikers to wear as winter boots and suddenly it dawned on me that if my Keen sandals are so comfortable, why not try the hikers? I am glad I did. First off, there is plenty of room in the toes which I like as I have wide feet. They fit nice over the arch (I have a high instep and getting my feet into boots has often been a problem) and I needed something waterproof. I have not waded through slush yet but I am expecting them to hold up. The first day I wore them out was when we had snow that had frozen hard to ice, and the lug bottom gripped very nicely and I could walk normally, although cautiously of course. Since I do not wear the boots on a daily basis, the higher neck around my ankle would often rub sore, but I feel no indication of that at this time with the Keens. Two small things; One, my feet seem to sweat because of the waterproofing I am sure but it is a small price to pay for not getting soakers. And two, it seems no matter what lightweight boot I wear, I clop around in them, so that is not the boot's fault. I highly recommend these especially for the reasonable price. ... show more

I wear a 7.5 - after reading reviews I decided to go with an 8 - no way my not so narrow feet were floating all over the place. I ordered a different Keen Terradora 2 style in 7.5 and a little too snug.
