Superior boots to other brands. Better Materials for longer lasting boot. The reason I made this purchase was the shoelace "eyelets" are better than the other brand that use a fabric to hold the lace and the Keen boots use a metal hook. The other shoes failed long before the rest of the shoe was worn out. The fit is perfect and they are quite comfortable right outta the box. Having written a very positive review on this boot about a year ago, I need to add, what I think, is very important information. There is still no doubt about quality and comfort with Keen boots. However, I suffer from toe, and toenail, issues with boots having a narrow toe box. I have found that not all keen boots have a wide toe box. If you suffer from toe issues, make sure the description literally talks about toe box room. The Targee 2 boot, for example, was comfortable right out of the box for me and has ample toe room. Look very closely at the provided pictures. The boot on the left (both pictures) is the Targhee 2, with its ample toe box. The Durand boot is narrower, even than what the pictures show. I will buy a shoe stretcher for the Durand boots to try and give them more room in the toe area. The 4 star is only due to the difficulty of finding this information in the boot description. ... show more

Well made boots. Mine were in the USA. This is my second pair of Keen Durands. The first pair got me through the Inca Trail, the Camino de Santiago French route and Portugues route, Kilimanjaro, a portion of the Via Francigena, the Kumano Kodo as well as many national parks in the USA. In total, about 2000 miles. The heal of the Vibram sole started to wear thin but the stitching was still good. So I was very happy with the workmanship. Note Keens run small and so I use a size 13 to fit my normally sized 12 foot. Wide toe box prevents rubbing. Just make sure you lace them tight. As testimony to how much I like these boots, in 2017, I paid about $80 for a close-out pair. This time I paid $100 more. But, hey, when you find something that works... ... show more

I'm a delivery driver and put miles and miles on boots and shoes. These were my favorite boots for YEARS. I would wear them until the bottoms were completely smooth. The leather never wore out or tore. A pair would last me 7-8 months. The last pair I bought the bottoms became unglued AND the sides tore in 3 months. No thanks. I recently rocked $100 timberlands and they lasted 9 months. I change out the sole supports in those with aftermarket and they are better than these Durands. I'll never buy a Keen product again. ... show more

This is my second pair of these boots I've owned over the years. This one had the glue start to come off on the edge and the sole come unattached after a few months while the last pair lasted me nearly a decade. I reglued them and they seem fine now but just seems like the quality has possibly taken a hit. ... show more
