As a practice, I'm not one who typically writes reviews, but after wearing this boot for but a short time, I feel compelled to share my experiences. After inexplicably breaking a foot several years ago, following my surgeon's advice, I now try to wear shoes / boots with extra support when engaging in physically demanding activities. Unlike what I have found in most footwear, these Keen's do not disappoint. In fact, from the first wearing, these boots have exceeded ALL expectations. When I first tried them on, they were stiff and appeared overly sturdy (stormtrooper boot construction comes to mind); however, after just a short period, they settled in perfectly. Granted I just purchased these boots, and time will ultimately be the judge as to their quality and durability (of which I intend to make comment on in the future), but I'm in the middle of a full, deck - off restoration of a 25' boat. As the boat is in dry dock, there's lots of up and down climbing, while additionally having to fit into tight spots (a bit of a challenge for a 6' 2", 220 pound old man), but not once, during the 12 hours I wore them on that first day did I experience any discomfort (and there were no aching feet to deal with once they were removed in the evening). These Keen's may not fit the bill for those in the market for a casual, fashion boot; however, if you're looking for a boot with both comfort and stability, these may be worth taking a look at.

Pros: +breathable +sturdy rubber toe w/o comp or steel toe +reasonable weight +comfortable out of the box +good lace length Cons: - colors misleading: Amazon listing photos show very very dark brown almost gray. These things are brown, yuck. - ankle side are a bit rough, could have been softer for a breathable hiking boot - laces and accent colors are yellow, yuck - lace top hooks are plastic, not metal. Hopefully they aren't the first things to break. Thoughts: I've had for a week. I work on my feet all day and wanted a sturdy light-weight breathable work boot that was NOT comp/steel toe. They are certainly breathable. Granted fall is here but every day this past week I've had almost no foot sweat. I just wish Keen made a boot just like this in actual dark grey or black.

Keen Men's Voyageur Mid Hiking Boot,Dark Earth/Burnt Henna,15 M US Just a few years ago I purchased my first real hiking boots in a long, long time. I really didn't need hikers as much as I needed footwear that would keep me warm at an upcoming football bowl game. My team wasn't quite good enough to get a "warm-weather" bowl invitation so I just knew it would be cold. Nothing is worse than sitting in the stands with freezing feet and not being able to do anything about it. I didn't buy my Keen Voyageur's that day. They are too airy and light for such duty. The boots I did buy were from a competitor and they did the job too well. Only problem is that they're only comfortable in cold conditions--at least to me. But they were comfortable, sturdy and delivered exactly what I was looking for. The comfort intrigued me. I have some orthopedic issues as well as knee problems and getting the right footwear is essential. So I went back to the store that sold me my cold-weather hikers and asked what they had in a lightweight boot. The first shoe I was shown was a pair of Keen Voyageurs. I tried them on and it was an "aaaaaah" moment for me. The price wasn't the best but I know that you get what you pay for so I decided to go with the Keens. I wore them almost everywhere. I even wore them to work. Probably not the best choice for office footwear but it was a comfort-first issue for me. One great thing was that I could put my orthotic inserts in after removing the liner that came with them and the fit was perfect. I began to wear them year round. A thicker pair of socks helps ward off the cold in normal activities (don't know how they'd work in a cold stadium...my team hasn't done well lately :^\) and when it's hot as blazes--they're akin to wearing sandals when I wear a thinner sock. I put those boots through the grinder by wearing them as much as 5-6 days a week. I know it wasn't the Appalachian Trail but I still don't know of any boots that would have held up as long as they did without some deterioration. I'm really hard on footwear for the record. While they didn't become unwearable, they did become unsuitable for work. So I went looking for a replacement pair. The store I bought them from originally didn't carry them anymore. That's when I thought of Amazon. Amazon came through for me and even though the price was about the same as the old pair (no fire sale here), the shipping was free. So I pulled the trigger and got my next pair of Voyageurs. The old ones? They are still serving me well as weekend work boots. And the new ones? Not a problem at all...and I wear them to work almost daily. Kudos Keen!

I instantly noticed the heel on this shoe sits very high. I tried to be okay with it but anything over 8 miles and I develop a blister pattern on the heel, not from rubbing but from unnaturally sitting up so high and pushing downward with each step. Otherwise these boots would be great. Check out Keen Targhee III or Vent for a better flatter heel.

These are the most comfortable shoe right out of the box I've ever bought so much shop that they are pretty much the only shoe I'll buy now and they hold up pretty good I feel I'm a pretty big fellow 245lb and I climb trees for a living and I love doing it in these shoes, I get a good year out of them which I feel is pretty good if you can hey them on sale like I did from this company as for the company they are great shipped the shoe right to me in like 2 days maybe 3 so got to love that will buy from them again every time they got a sale

Bought these on a friend's recommendation to play airsoft and disc golf in. I've only played airsoft in them and they were amazing. I am not a super active person and yet after hours of playing I had no foot pain when I got home. These are great!
