Features
- Ears Up, Eyes Bright: The Rabbit sits upright with her long ears reaching skyward and one paw raised, caught at the exact moment between stillness and attention. Kay Bojesen distilled her to the essential gesture: the alert posture that every rabbit in the world shares.
- Precision At Every Joint: She is shaped from FSC-certified untreated oak and assembled at visible joints that give her figure structure and a subtle sense of movement. The natural grain differs across each piece, so no two rabbits read quite the same way up close.
- Standing Tall And Slender: She stands 6.3 inches tall with a footprint of just 2.6 by 2.8 inches, a natural fit for a narrow shelf, a mantelpiece corner, or a bedside table. Wipe her clean with a damp cloth and spare her from prolonged direct sunlight to keep the oak warm.
- Ships Ready To Give: She arrives in a Kay Bojesen branded gift box, dressed for birthdays, christenings, school milestones, anniversaries, or weddings without any additional wrapping. The box is part of the presentation, printed with the Kay Bojesen name.
- Nod to Danish Design: The Wooden Animals series grew from Kay Bojesen's belief that wood only lives when given a story. The Rabbit arrived in 1957 as the youngest of the family, shaped not to replicate a real rabbit but to distill the one posture that makes any rabbit immediately recognizable.
Description
Danish design with humor and winks. Kay Bojesen is one of the great Danish designers of the 20th century. He specialised in smaller, decorative things for the home, and especially his wooden monkey is a strong, graphic design object known and popular with young and old. Today, the monkey can be found in almost all Danish houses and is not only part of the Danish design culture, but also part of the everyday life of the Danes.
