I wanted to get a single set of solar string lights that could go around the large, wooded fire pit area in my backyard. This set provided that length with a very large solar panel To keep the lights charged well. The lights are smaller than full-size bulbs, but larger than some of the sets that feature small globe bulbs. Size aside they light up fairly brightly for a solar set, and there are a number of options from solidly lit to flashing to fades, etc. The wire is medium duty, meaning that I have seen solar sets with thicker wires and some with thinner. Every light socket has a hanging hole at the top although I would’ve preferred that clips were included so that the lights could’ve easily been hung on a string light cable. The solar panel itself seems pretty heavy duty and I like the fact that it can be charged a USB if you end up in the situation where there wasn’t enough sun and need to use lights. I also like that the switch on the solar panel lights up green to let you know that the power has been turned on or is fully charged. All in all, a good solar string light set for the asking price.

The Kawaya outdoor solar string lights are perfect for patios, porches and other outdoor locations where you can set the solar charging panel in direct sunlight. First of all, the solar charging panel is very large in comparison with other solar powered lights that I have used in the past. It has a 7,200 mAh solar battery which is a good capacity to power the LED bulbs. The light string is easy to install and there hanging loops on each bulb. The lights stay on all night long after charging for the day and the light ambiance is very nice. The solar charging panel comes has different options for mounting. There is a plastic stake kit included so that you can stake it into the ground. You can also mount it to a wall or simply place it anywhere in direct sunlight. The bulbs are shatterproof and a nice size and shape and the light they emit is also very nice. Installation is a breeze, and these lights can easily be taken down during periods of high winds, or for storage during the winter months. The easy setup also makes them great for camping. I really like this solar light string and recommend it!

They really hit the nail on the head with this set. They look nice and feel like they will last more than 1 season. The cords were wrapped in a way that prevented a tangled mess. They feel like they are made from quality material not flimsy or cheap . I set the solar panel in the sun charging while I was hanging them and by the time I was done there was enough charge to turn them on by covering the light sensor. The light sensor that is great for auto on/off Definitely worth the price for how well they work.

Packaged nicely. These look expensive. Even though they are plastic blubs, these lights look great. There is no need for an extension cord as it comes with a solar panel that just sticks into the ground. This is a great feature as it makes these lights portable, meaning you can move them from home patio to a camping patio when we leave for vacation. They stay lit for quite some time. They produce a warm light rather than a bright light.

This is a well-made set. However, the only way to use it is to stake the solar panel into the ground or use tools to hang it on a wall. When we use solar lights, we put them on trees, and bushes, hang them off a stone wall, etc. We can’t nail or screw this solar panel into any of these, and we can’t stake it in the ground or drill it into the concrete paving around the pool. If we staked it in the ground by the tree, there would be lights showing at the base of the tree and someone might trip over the solar panel sitting on the ground. We have other solar lights that have a clamp on the solar panel (looks like a large heavy-duty potato chip bag clip) that allows us to clamp it to a tree branch, or onto the roof or gutter. With a clamp, you don’t need tools, have to attach it permanently to a structure or have wires coming up from the ground. We much prefer the kind that offers a clamp and will buy those from now on. The directions say you can also charge the strand by plugging it into a USB port, but you’d need to keep taking it down and putting it back up to do this. I hope this review is helpful to you in deciding whether this will work for your purpose.

Sure...the light output isn't huge, but such a nice accent light in the trees and patio, and in absolute darkness, they do give off enough light to see hazards, etc. Surprised that these a still going strong at 2am. I kind of assumed with the size of the panel, that 50 lights might peter-out somewhat quickly...happily surprised to be wrong about that. Bang for buck, and with the long coverage, I can highly recommend this light set. If longevity becomes an issue, I will update this review.
