This reviewis for the kate spade new york Liv Pebbled Leather Small Flap Crossbody, Black. So I see I get the honor of the very first review! And I couldn't be any happier with this purse! If you haven't looked at the Kate Spade brand lately, you need to! For those whom don't know it, Coach acquired them several years ago! Yes you read that correctly folks! Coach brand acquired them in 2017! So if you were previously not wowed with the brand, their designs weren't your cup of tea, you felt they weren't the level of quality you like to have... well, let's just say brighter things are on the horizon! So with this particular bag, let's start off by saying it's absolutely top tier quality! Every inch of this bag is impeccable! The genuine leather with the pebbled finish is absolutely gorgeous! It's a beautiful dark inky coal black, with not a mar on it anywhere! It has a wonderful soft suppleness to it. Every piece of this bag is made to exacting standards! The stitching is perfect everywhere upon very close inspection! The gold tone hardware is beautiful and well done, very securely attached. The loops that the strap runs through are unique and add another interesting touch to the bag as do the metal studd buttons on the strap used to adjust the length. The strap also has a widened part for comfort to wear it crossbody/shoulder carry. I'm also very happy to see the strap is substantial too, iot's not one of those wimpy thin straps you need to worry about breaking on you! On the front flap you'll see the rectangular Kate Spade New York plate which is beautifully done in black with gold lettering and gold backplate. The flap closes with a large powerful rectangular magnetic closure. On the back is a tight slip in pocket, this will loosen up some over time as the leather is broken in during use. Inside the bag (under the flap) you'll find a full size zip close pocket with a metal zipper that works smoothly, but the pocket is thinner so you're not going to fit a fat wallet in there, and I wouldn't want to be putting a cell in there for fear of scratching the screen on the zipper. The main pocket is good size and there's a slip in pocket along the backside that can easily hold a large size cell. The rest of the pocket is open and can hold a good amount. This is a bag with timeless style and sophisticated looks that knows no age boudaries, and is equally at home as an everyday bag, used for dressing up for work/a night out/church/wedding..., the only limits it will know are the ones you put on it! Do be aware of the overall size of the bag. If you're someone who likes a big bag, likes to carry everything including the kitchen sink... then this is not the bag for you! Approximate dimensions are 9 inches long X 6 inches high X 3.25 inches thick. Now that I've covered the good, what would I like to see diff? Well the strap is sewn onto the bag at the bottom! No idea why they felt the need to do this because it means if the strap breaks for some reason, you can't replace it unless you just cut it! It also means you can't change it out for a diff strap if you prefer something else. I also would like to see the strap longer with more adjustability to it so I can choose to wear it at a better length for crossbody! This brings us back to the issue that it's sewn onto the bag! But I personally love the woven guitar type straps as there's tons of choices with them, they're a wide comfortable strap, they allow you to quickly and easily change the strap & the whole aesthetic of a bag, match it to diff outfits...! Still with this issue of the strap, I'm a short handicapped woman. I use crossbody/sling/messenger bags and back packs to securely carry my stuff. So this issue is VERY important to me! I use a cane in my right hand and my service dog is on my left. I need my hands free! I hope they read this review and take notice of it because I'm not the only person faced with this issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm still super happy with this bag and thrilled I was able to get it through the Amazon Vine program! I'm not someone who stands on ceremony, I'm not snooty, I'm not rich, I'm not the type of person who picks my stuff purely on labels/brands... I choose items based on a genuine interest/like/need for them... And I do love high quality real leather items/gear! I would have chosen this purse no matter what brand it was as it appealed to me. But I'm also one of those people who just wouldn't have spent the amount of money that this purse cost on myself for it as I consider a luxury/want iotem and not something I needed. Just saying. Do remember this is real leather, show it some love now and then. Only use high quality products on it formulated for leather to clean/condition/protect it! Do that, and tyhere's no reason this purse won't serve you well for decades to come! Regular price $ 348.00 per the listing. Having done some research online, I saw this very purse at numerous high end stores for the exact same pricepoint. On here it's only on offer in the black I got or the milk glass colors, but it's available in several colors on other sites.

I think this is a brand you can't go wrong with. If you are wearing something Kate Spade, whatever the item, you will look stylish and put together. I love the look and feel of the navy pebbled leather. It's a deep true navy. This is a great bag if you are going to travel and just need something not too large or too obtrusive. You can keep it safe with the crossbody strap. This is pretty small so you aren't going to fit large items in your bag, but it is perfect for the necessities. I don't think it's a great value. It's very small for this price point, but if that is not an issue, this is a great looking and solid bag. Any woman would love this as a gift to accent their wardrobe, and navy goes with almost everything. It comes packaged in a Kate Spade plastic wrap and it well protected. If you give it as a gift, they will know it the real thing.
