Very attractive and sturdy construction. I must say that I have never been disappointed with anything from Kate Spade. I can no longer use shoulder strap or crossbody handbags as a result of 9-level fusion surgery on neck and thoracic spine. I wanted something I could use as a handbag or small tote bag. This one fills the bill! The appearance and quality are excellent. And because it is well constructed and maintains it shape (not a floppy bag), I believe that it will be very durable; and I will be carrying it for years to come. ... show more

This is a great bag for most day to day occasions. I love the fabric since it's snap to clean and most stains can be wiped off easily. Additionally, the black color allows it to coordinate with most outfits... Both casual and professional. (Yeah, I see all you Mom's with kiddos out there...) The zippered front pocket is modestly sized and the zipper itself is smooth and easy to use. It's great for holding things like keys or a cell phone. Once opened, this purse is generously sized and will allow a plethora of items: a full size wallet, a 5" x 7" day planner, makeup bag, keys, sunglasses, chewing gum... Pretty much whatever your needs are - within reason. - Additionally, Kate Spade has provided an additional, inner, zippered pocket for anything else you might want a separate space for... Like Kleenex. The adjustable, fabric strap is easy on your shoulders and a cinch to attach to the ends of this purse. When extended to its full length, it's roughly 37" long. True to Kate Spade form: The hardware is well made. I think this bag is perfect for someone who's on-the-go and likes to carry all their necessities yet appreciates an attractive and functional bag. I recently picked up this Kate Spade New York Dash Canvas Tote as a gift for my wife, and it has been a huge hit. While she isn't usually one to go for name-brand purses, she absolutely loves this one and has been reaching for it daily. She even continues to choose it over all her other bags, even after two months of consistent use. It’s a large, spacious tote that can hold a significant amount of items, which has quickly become its most valued feature for her daily routines. The build quality is truly impressive, the canvas is thick and feels incredibly durable, which gives me confidence that it will last for a long time. However, it is worth noting that because the material is so substantial, the bag itself has a good amount of weight to it. When you factor in all the things my wife carries around, it can get quite heavy, though that hasn't stopped her from taking it everywhere. While she wasn't personally a fan of the specific color I chose, she loves the overall utility so much that it has become her go-to bag regardless of the aesthetic. I personally think the bag looks fantastic, and I found the apple design to be a really cute, unique touch. Exterior: Structured canvas tote. Has a zipper pocket on the front that goes all the way to the bottom. Behind that is a drop pocket that also goes all the way to the bottom. No feet on the bottom. Interior: Unlined. Has one zipper pocket that hangs into the main compartment. Main compartment has a zipper closure, but it's open on the ends so it's not secure. The end of the zipper dangles a lot. Quality: Great quality. All the seams are even and straight. Metal hardware. Leather zipper pulls and accents. It's a super cute bag and it fits a good deal. Not a full size tote, more like a medium. My son's ipad just fits. Good for dinners, but wouldn't take this traveling. Since there's huge gaping holes at each end of the zipper, everything would fall out if your bag fell over. Comfy to carry short distances on my arm with the handles. The shoulder strap is removable and adjustable. The bag isn't too large to carry crossbody. True to color. ... show more

This is a really nice, sturdy canvas bag. It’s about 9.5 inches tall and around 13 inches wide (see photos), so it feels like that perfect in between size where it’s not too bulky but still holds a lot. The cream canvas color is nice, there’s a New York map detail along the bottom of the bag on the inside, it gives it a little personality without being too in your face since it is on the inside. The bag is also very nice quality. The canvas is thick and feels durable, not flimsy at all. It holds its shape really well, it doesn’t collapse or get all slouchy when you put things in it. I’ve been able to fit my iPad for work plus a bunch of other everyday items, practical for day to day use. My only hesitation is the price difference for this version. I’m not sure the cherry accessory and interior details fully justify or add enough value for the purse to be $100 more than the other color options. It feels a bit excessive for what you’re getting.
