I have used this product in the past, and have no complaints on performance. After having several reels "serviced", I took a new out of the box of this role rated at 497 yards. I metered 100 yards of new line onto each of my reels .... after backing them. I barely had enough line on spool to outfit 4 reels (400 yards) much short of the amount "advertised to be n the spool. It is actually looking rather good for a cheap braid, seems to be relatively round and uniform. It is not a thin one though. A 10lb Silky8 is much thicker than Varivas HighGrade x8 PE0.8 (which is rated at 16lb) and I'd say comparable to Seaguar Grandmax x8 PE1.2 (23lb) but stiffer.

This super powered braid is LEGIT. It is all I use for big snook down in Florida. I have had tons of times when a big fish will wrap me around pilings, and despite the rubbing, the 20lb will hold up on BIG fish as long as you are not forceful. This is definitely worth every penny.

I used this line for saltwater vertical (both slow and fast) jigging, but at depths greater then 300 feet or jigs 100 grams or heavier the line was very noisy winding back up into my spool. Sound is very loud and irritating. I won’t use this line for this type of fishing because of the noise it makes, although the price is good and it did bring up fish >20# at these depths. ... show more
