I can not explain how many times I get the trouble-hooks on my crankbaits and rooster-tails snagged on my other poles when driving to the boat ramp, snagged on the webbing on my tackle bags whenever trying to carry too may items in one hand walking to the water. In the past i have always used the Velcro wraps and for the most part they worked but i still had issues with the lure banging against the rod blank and sliding up and down the rod. These bait capsules keep the lure and hooks off the blank. it has a plastic hook to secure to the reel. The hook is just big enough to slip over a 3000 series spinning reel stem. Some of the larger reels you may not be able to secure it to them. Baitcasters should be fine. I was a little skeptical about the hinges but they are designed with a plastic hinge pin instead of just a flexed piece of plastic so they should hold up pretty well. The Large capsule works well for the 110 style Jerkbaits and most under 10' diving crankbaits. You could go with the medium for many of the regular size crankbaits but i have not tried it. I purchased the large and Jumbo Kapsules.

Really good idea. A little pricy but it worked very well when rods were put inside car, especially when the dogs got riled up! They prevented impalement so they were ideal for us

Well, I have used these a couple times now. The plastic is awful thin but none of mine have cracked. I don't care for the hook on the end. It is too big to attach to my rod hook holder, and it is not big enough to hook to a couple of my reels. I will probably drill a hole in one to fit it around my rod to see if I like that better.

I like the idea. It definitely keeps hooks from getting stuck on my tackle bag, the carpeted floor of my trunk, or whatever else is in my trunk. I wish the packages would come in other sets, like 4 large or 4 medium, etc. The way it is now, you have to buy baitkapsules that you don’t want.

Just as advertised! Works great for transporting poles that are set up, especially with kids and dogs. We don’t have any issues with them grabbing lures, hooks or any accidents. Definitely easy to use, provides a level of safety/protection and the size is appropriate.
