So, it’s very plastic looking up close (probably cause it’s mostly made of plastic) but at a distance, it looks nice. It’s very thin and allows you to drape it over things or wrap them. Remote works well but you definitely need line of site to the control box with the batteries so you can’t completely hide that thing. There is a smell that comes with this stuff which is most likely the plastic off gassing. I imagine the scent will dissipate in time. It’s battery operated so I’m guessing that has limits to how long the string can go but personally, I wish it went to 8ft instead of 6. I needed two strings to decorate our chandelier but was hoping to use the second one I ordered over a bathroom mirror. On a positive note, the remote works with both strings so you can turn both on and off with the same remote. In my opinion, it’s a bit overpriced for 6ft. If it was 8ft or a little cheaper, the value would better match the price but it’s not too bad overall.
