The instructions were simple on these water filters. Don't ignore the instruction to rinse or you will have some dust from the carbon material in your water. Unfortunately the filter slot on our pet water fountain is slightly tapered. I had trim the filter about a millimeter so it would go far enough into the slot to allow me to put the lid back on. Not a huge deal, but these things are in a pretty heavy frame which isn't easy to trim. So a minor inconvenience for a pretty good price savings. I'm satisfied. ... show more

    • these don't seem to work as well as other brands
I've bought off-brand filters in the past and not had an issue. But this last batch by K&J - they don't seem to do anything to filter the water or help keep it clean. It gets slimy and cloudy way too fast. All the fountain pieces have to be scrubbed much harder and more closely during cleaning. I don't want my pet getting sick because of bad filters. Not sure if this is common or just this last batch, but I can't recommend these filters and am throwing the rest of my 12 pack away. ... show more
