With so many makers of filters for my cat's Veken fountain, I decided to stick with the filters made by Veken itself. I always read reviews, especially the negative ones. You can learn a lot from negative reviews, which is probably why some sellers seem to restrict the negatives. I considered making my own filters, but in the end, went with the Veken brand through Amazon's subscription service. I'm very pleased with these filters. I thoroughly rinse each one out with clear water and use it for two months. I used to use one for three months, but that is definitely not a wise idea. It's easy to tell when it's time to throw it out and use a new one as the filter turns slightly green or even moldy. I pushed my last one to three months, and when I saw spots of mold on it, I immediately threw it away. As I clean the fountain carefully every month, the mold surprised me, but I won't be caught again. I love my cat and will replace the filter more frequently, as I should. ... show more

I like these, but… I bought them for my cats water fountain. Unfortunately, they redid the design of the water fountain, so now I have to buy different ones. So I would say they’re easy to use, and are good quality. They aren’t that expensive, which is nice. I don’t usually clean them. I just threw them in the trash. If my cats could speak words then I think they would say that they are happy to have a new drinking fountain. They are curious about it and it seems to encourage them to drink more.
