These are my favorite shorts and this is actually the second pair of these I've bought. They are perfect for the Florida heat and lifestyle as they are perfect for swimming. They are a swishy windbreaker material. I don't notice a lot of fade from chlorine, but they will fade in the wash over time. Not by a lot but a bit. My single complaint is that when I bought these last year I went with the 4X, which fit perfectly and looked exactly the way I wanted but when I sat down they were very tight on my stomach (I wear them high waisted). So this year I decided to get a 5X which are also great. They aren't tight in the stomach, or in anyway at all. The size differential between the 4X and 5X is pretty huge. I never felt the need to tie the drawstring in my 4X pair, but I definitely have to tie it on the 5X pair. But that's OK because like I said this is my favorite pair of shorts. The only reason that I needed to replace my last pair was because I ripped the seam on the right side. This is no way a design flaw. It was completely my fault for catching them on the metal plate that latches your door. Once I did it one time it was easy to keep doing it over and over ripping the seam more and more until there was just a huge hole that was impossible to hide. But So if you are plus size be careful of your hips but don't be scared to buy these shorts. ... show more

    • Great athleisure shorts, not so great athletic shorts

I love these shorts for wearing around the house and for athleisure wear, not so much for exercise. They ride up while exercising. Size up! I usually wear a 2x in shorts and pants like these but I got them in a 3x specifically so they would be longer. I am glad I sized up both for length and for the overall fit! The 2x defiantly would not have been large enough. They are great while standing up however they are fairly nonexistent when sitting down. They material is kind of cheap but overall for the price they are great! The first pair I ordered split in the seam even though their was plenty of room in them. I sent them back and I was sent a replacement within 2 days which was great! Amazing service! I would 100% recommend these, but more as something to lounge around in or sleep in than as athletic shorts. ... show more

I’m normally a size 16/18, I bought one pair in a size 1X and another pair in a size 2X. The 1X is too small. The waist on the 2X fits but the material around my thighs is a little tighter than I would’ve liked. The material is like raincoat material. It doesn’t stretch at all so if your thighs are a lot bigger than your waist, you’ll need to go up a couple sizes to get a comfortable fit on the thighs. There are drawstrings so you should be able to tie the waist tighter. The length is a little short on me. I do have a rounder caboose and I’m 5’9 so it could just be short because of my body type. The most annoying part to me is the sound. Because of the material, the sound when I walk is so loud. I wore them to the gym and when I walked on the treadmill, the sound was so embarrassing I went to the locker room and changed into JEANS. They’re fine for a pair of lounging shorts around the house. I definitely will not be wearing them to the gym again. And because the material is not stretchy, I would be concerned about the crotch and rear splitting during squats and whatnot. ... show more

After reading the reviews and the fabric type I decided to buy these a lot bigger. I normally wear size 18/20 jeans. I have thicker thighs and I’m thicker around the middle. I bought these huge so I wouldn’t have to worry about confinement or popping a seam. I am so glad I did. These fit me very loosely but the draw string makes them perfect! They are the most comfortable polyester “swishy” shorts I’ve ever owned! The larger size also makes them fit a lot better on my legs! I’m not wearing these to work out in specifically. More for around the house. I am very happy with my purchase! The only thing I will add... is even though I have plenty of room to move I’m not sure if these will stand up to a vigorous workout. ... show more

    • Comfortable, cute, plus-size active shorts!!

These are great shorts. I recently started working out and had nothing to wear so I started my search for “plus size active shorts”. I finally found these and at such a great price! They’re windbreaker material (not plastic like other reviews suggest), which is nice for working out cuz it’s lighter and not so clingy and hot. These are truly made for plus-size women, not just a regular size short with a little extra material. The sizes aren’t just “extended sizes”, they’re actual plus-sizes...I find that a lot of stuff that’s made in “extended sizes” (ex. XXXL) and are based on regular sizes, don’t actually fit me right. I wear anywhere from a 3X to a 4X (depending on the material) so I ordered a 5X since I knew these wouldn’t have any “give” to them. In retrospect, I could’ve gone with a 4X but I didn’t want to take the chance since I’m in between sizes. The waist band does stretch but it was a little big on me; however, they do have a drawstring that I tied, which keeps them from falling off. Plus-size bottoms are always made to come up to the belly button but, if you’re like me and wear your pants slightly above the hips, you’ll want to roll the waistband down one time, which puts them at the perfect spot. They’re also the perfect length. All-in-all, order a size up from your normal pants size and you’ll be happy with the fit. You can’t beat the benefits of these shorts for the price! Great shorts!!! I needed some shorts for the river this weekend and can't find any "medium Chunky" with a side of some serious junk in the trunk. But Amazon came through!!! I'm a size 20 but I have wide hips and a booty and couldn't find shorts to cover up my butt and be roomy in my thighs. I bought a 5x and have to sench up the waist to keep them up but that's ok because I can also squat and the don't dig into my thighs.i might buy another pair in a 4x just to see. It is getting warmer. Leggings and bike shorts combined with heat do not get along well with plus size unless you are a fan of swamp crotch and fungus / yeast infections. These seem no better other than being looser around the thighs, and perhaps offering a tiny bit more airflow to the lady parts. Order to size or up a size or two if you like looser clothes. There is zero stretch in the fabric and limited waist stretch. Make sure you check the sizing to avoid disappointment. There is no obvious brief liner. The sides have non stretch netting for ventilation. Depending on where you wear the shorts on your waist, the legs run mid thigh or a bit lower. The elastic waistband is covered in fabric with stretch stitching. It has a drawstring if the waist starts getting loose. My guess most of the issues with tearing is due to wearing too tight of a size. Once again there is zero stretch other than the waistband. Inside the fabric is plain purple. Perhaps that is the crepe liner... Outside adds the black pattern. The black trims break up the color a bit, but it isn't distracting. The mesh on the sides is close enough to provide basic privacy, but panty color and style will show through. The fabric is best described as windbreaker polyester material. It is a bit rough and does not breathe well. It is woven tight enough to be somewhat water resistant. The legs sit high enough and there is enough room that most stretch and athletic activities should not be limited by the shorts. If you wear the shorts too low, you risk blowing the crotch out with squats and leg lifts. The interior pocket is useless. It might hold a gym locker key, a few quarters, or a folded bank note. It is not wide or deep enough to hold a credit card or an ID card. There is no place to store a cell phone. Accessing the pocket is awkward enough that you may need to pull the shorts down to even find it in the first place let alone pull anything out of it. ... show more
