I loved Just Dance and haven't played in a while. So, when I found out Just Dance 2021 was coming out I was super excited. I was wrong and right. So first of all, every couple of times I go to play, it says "You are offline!" And I can't do the tournaments or do my premium songs (the subscription costs a lot of money too!) I turn my internet off and back on and nothing happens. I usually have to wait a whole day until the game wants to work again. It gets really annoying. The second problem is that the subscription for all of the songs is kind of too expensive. It's about four dollars a month so about forty-eight dollars a year. The only way to get it cheaper is to get the yearly which is twenty-four dollars. But even that can seem expensive too. I can name ten other games that don't require a "subscription" or something related to that. Still, I think that the game is really fun and I could play it for hours. And it's nice that it's a physical game so you can burn a couple calories. Just could be better.

After FINALLY getting ahold of a Switch, I knew that Just Dance was going to be a game that I wanted to try. It's been just as much fun as I had expected, and it has become a quick favorite for the whole family. With the extra "Just Dance Unlimited", the game comes out to having about 600 songs, so there is plenty to do based on what you like to do. I usually just put the game on auto shuffle and uses it as a good cardio workout. My only complaint is that sometimes, the game just feels inaccurate in its scoring. Often, even if you repeat the moves as best as you can, it still won't count them properly. I suppose that just comes with making this type of game, but it's annoying, particularly if you are going for the top score. However, I still strongly recommend for anyone wanting a fun game to play with the family.

Just Dance is an amazing game in itself. It’s fun, active, and popular. This game features a lot of songs from 2020, not really 2021, but nonetheless it’s fun. The only unfortunate thing is that you do only get access to about 40ish songs from the 500ish they tell you you have. You have to purchase the JD unlimited pass, which costs you $24.99 for a year and they offer other rates for a day, a month, three months, etc. Although, I would like to point out that this game is cheaper here on Amazon than elsewhere. On the Nintendo eShop it’s like $50 which is ridiculous because you still have to purchase the unlimited pass. So if you’re looking for cheap, buy it on here. Also, this is a game card, I didn’t see a single review that said anything about the format when I was purchasing it, so let me say this once more, it is a game card, NOT a download :)

Be prepared to shell out for the subscription service - while there's a decent library included, you won't get the "good stuff" without subscribing, though there is a decent free trial. **Also note that you cannot log into multiple devices or profiles (!!!) with the same subscription account.** That means that if Amy and Suzie are using the same switch but Suzie doesn't want Amy playing the game with her Switch profile, mom and dad are buying two subscriptions just to get the same content for each profile. While "they can share" is generally a valid answer, it's really not great subscription management. It also doesn't work if two people in the same family are geographically separated and want to play together. Does not make sense for a family game. The subscription also brings in a ton of familiar songs - but wait! Does that mean I'm paying AGAIN for songs that were in previous versions, that were already created and sold to me? YES! You might think that the $60 price tag would pay for those, but I guess not. DON'T FORGET that you're paying for the subscription service to keep accessing those (previously created and paid for songs). So why is this game $60? I don't know.

Video games and dancing are two of my favorite pastimes, and somehow I had never bought Just Dance before! I am a former Zumba and cardio dance instructor and have to admit this can also be a great workout. I already went through 40 songs of Just Dance 2021 this morning (game just arrived yesterday), and it was a blast. There’s a great mix of moves from hip-hop, modern, Zumba, etc. and while I only recognized five or so of the songs, it was still enjoyable. From a workout perspective, it can be a little heavier on the right arm and quad, so I suggest switching up the legs and also using the left arm more instead of just mirroring the game - as long as your right arm is mirroring, you’ll still get the 5 stars. I am pretty certain I’ll be subscribing to the unlimited soon.

Make sure you’re aware of ever you need to buy to make this game work. Also there’s one for the Playstation, one for Nintendo…the one for Playstation requires more accessories. Also, there are songs listed on the game that you can purchase; so your kids/grandkids will probably push for that. GAMEPLAY: Kids really enjoy it, but they only have to move their arms to score points, not legs. It’s a good option to keep them exercising, even in a small living room. Not all the songs are appropriate for younger kids.
