  • Comfortable and convenient
Color: Grey-2.0x Lens Color: clear-2.0x
Where have these been all my life? Yeah, I hate gushy over-the-top reviews as much as anyone, but I'm excited to have these, in a geeky sort of way. I'm so used to using cheap plastic safety glasses with plastic lenses that are scratched. If I'm doing work where I need very clear eyesight, I'll put on a pair of readers under the safety glasses. It works but it's less than optimal. But if you've ever had to have a piece of metal or wood removed from your eye, you'll know how important it is to wear safety glasses, inconvenient or uncomfortable as they can be sometimes. I had no idea safety glasses with readers even existed, although I admit to not giving much thought to safety glasses in general. They're in a way, a necessary evil in that they protect your eyes, but usually not without interfering with your vision in at least a minimal way. At least the ones I have. These safety glasses are as clear and sharp as the good set of readers I have on my desk for computer work. The 2.0 power is spot on and equivalent to my good 2.0 readers. The fit is comfortable with sufficient protection on three sides of each lens. A little screwdriver is included to tighten up the hinges, along with an anti-fog cloth which I haven't had a need to use so far. You might miss the cloth unless you look in the box, as it fits in there tightly and won't fall out on its own. There's also a set of 10 pads which I thought were for the nose bridge, but they don't have any adhesive layer. However, I discovered that there are slots on each inner surface, just under the hinges, where the pads slide in perfectly. I cannot for the life of me figure out what their purpose is, and there's no mention of the pads or slots in the product description. Unless you have a bizarrely deformed head, they're too far away to make contact with your skin. Perhaps they're meant to absorb moisture and keep the inside of the glasses from fogging up? Odd that this is left as a mystery for the customer... In any case, these are a great pair of safety glasses. I have a few pair of beat-up regular readers that I keep on my workbench, but I'll probably toss these and just use these safety glasses whenever I need to use readers, whether I need the protection or not. They're comfortable enough to use as general purpose readers, and you never know when the safety features will protect you from something unexpected. These are also inexpensive enough that you don't really have to worry about using them in environments where normal readers would get scratched or bent. These are a really great addition to my workbench, and I don't say that about too many things. ... show more

  • Side and top wrapped safety glasses with reading lenses and both UV and blue light protection
Color: Grey-2.0x Lens Color: clear-2.0x
I have an old pair of safety goggles that I use when I am working on a project that requires them. Unfortunately, since I wear glasses, it is very difficult to do my work this way. I was quite impressed when I saw these safety goggles with prescription lenses. It took me two seconds to know this is a better option for me. I ordered them anticipating the frames would be similar to my old safety goggles. Wow. Was I ever wrong. The glasses frame in this product is very solid, like the glasses you might order from your optometrist and the lenses are crystal clear. There is a soft clear silicone piece that wraps around each lens, extending toward your face to protect your eyes from any flying debris coming upward, downward, or from the side. There is no separate nose piece. It is molded in, just like your custom reading glasses. I have perfect vision with the 2.0 lenses and I find comfort in knowing these protect me from UV and blue light eye damage too. One problem with close-fitting wrapped lenses is fog, but they have included an anti-fogging wipe that actually works. Put it back in the sealed wrap to keep it working longer. I took a few pictures to show you what I received: 1- as it arrived, in a box; 2- everything out of the box; 3- and out of the wrappers; 4- closeup of eye guard from the inside; 5- closeup of eye guard from the outside; 6- bottom view (glasses are upside down); 7- fog remover; 8- fog remover pkg back. The price of these combination blue light readers and safety glasses is unexpectedly low. Grab them while they are available! Amazon offers their wonderful no-hassle 30-day return/refund/replace guarantee with this product (with a time extension during the holiday season) and it ships fast and free for Prime members. For the design, quality materials and construction, UV and blue light protection, wind and pollen and projectile protection, low price and for providing my prescription strength for clear vision, I am giving these very unique safety goggles five stars. ... show more

  • Safety Readers
Color: Clear-1.5x Lens Color: clear-1.5x
I wear a fairly mild prescription, though without it I'd have trouble seeing close-up details clearly. So I went with a low degree of magnification, the +1.50. These seem to fit the bill, as they make it easy for me to make out the text on my phone or the small print of a good book. They're reasonably lightweight and comfortable to wear, especially for safety glasses. I've actually wandered off and started doing things without realizing I still had them on. The guards don't make a tight seal with your face, which I suppose is meant to discourage fogging, but there's just enough of a gap that a small piece of flying debris could theoretically get through if the angles were just right. These are still much better than nothing, and a lower cost-to-replace than wearing your regular glasses while doing work. Note that, as these are meant for up-close vision, they tend to distort objects further away. Sitting 10 feet from the TV was enough to bring it slightly out of focus for me and make it fuzzy enough to almost be considered blurry. I'm not sure if that's normal for every pair of off-the-rack reading glasses, since I've never owned any, but I don't get this effect with my prescription glasses. I likewise haven't been on the receiving end of any flying debris just yet so I can't quite report on how tough they are or how well they protect at work. But they are making it easy for me to type this review on a mobile phone, so I'm happy. ... show more
