This is a compact kit with an 18” kick, 10” rack tom, 14” floor tom, and 14” snare. The hi-hats sound like hitting a tin can and are too light to work properly, and the included crash just gets the job done - still not great. Do yourself a favor and upgrade the cymbals right away. Heads are two ply with coated batter head on the snare and aren’t too bad. Tune your drums and you can get solid sound out of it. If you want a compact kit for a very affordable price, this one is great - we got it for $280-ish on Prime Day which is still an excellent value for everything you get. It also looks nice which is a plus. Aside from the afore-mentioned cymbals, the kick pedal isn’t great, and the throne likewise needs upgraded. Even so, if you think of this more as a club sized shell pack than a full set you’re getting an amazing value. Don’t get me wrong - you can play it as a full set out of the box. You’re just going to have a much better experience if you upgrade your cymbals and most of the hardware. Note: The hi-hat stand works terribly with the included hi-hat cymbals, but as soon as we put better cymbals on the stand, it worked perfectly fine.

The media could not be loaded. 7 piece drum set. The kids are pretty impressed! About 12 years ago we bought a little cheap drum set. It cost maybe 30 dollars and lasted a month. This is a full sized, considerably better drum set! As a young couple there is no way we could have afforded this back then, so it is on the higher end for a young family on a budget. (Note: Eastar does make a simpler set for half the price) But, now as a homeschool family, the price is what I would expect for my kids to be learning on for music class. You definitely get a very good value for your money! It took about 2 hours to assemble with the help of two of my kids. One thing I would say is to make sure you run your finger around the bass drum rim and tom tom before placing down and tightening the drum heads. When I did the first tom tom drum head I didn't check and a little wood fleck or grain pressed into the head. It'd be awfully easy to puncture the head as you're focused on tightening evenly. Also make sure you tighten according to the pattern on the back of the instructions for a good even tension (my teenager pointed that out to me). The Hi-hat cymbals are tricky to understand. Sandwich the top cymbal between the felt and screws, similar to the crashing symbol. Then, rest the lower cymbal on the larger felt with the plastic screw to keep it from jumping up. Then, adjust the pedal height to what you prefer. In the photo and video is my 6 yr old for drum size reference. It seems to be a good buy for a 6 yr old - young teen. I think even I could sit in a adjustable desk chair at this set and learn some drumming patterns. I'm very pleased with our purchase! It is a solid entry level junior set!

I got these for my 7 year old who is interested in learning to play. I’m very happy with my order. I was worried at first about bad reviews that I seen but I’m so happy I took the chance and purchased this set. Great for beginners 👍

Drums look great and sound good, kit is small but not kid size I'm 250 6ft and the kit is perfectly fine for me and nice for small spaces (its in the spare bedroom). I do have my own hardware so didn't use the hi hat stand or throne that came with the kit. I also used Remo drum heads out the box so I can't speak for the stock batter heads either.

This Eastar drum kit is perfect for beginners and intermediate drummers. I purchased this small kit because I needed a smaller kit that sets up easy to practice on. The quality is great! From the hardware to the drums it’s great! The cymbals just get the job done, its to be expected on this price of drum set. Overall it’s a great drum kit!

This drum kit is not as advertised, it is not full size. The bass drum is tiny and sounds tiny. This is fine for a child's beginner kit, but not much else. Luckily that was what we purchased it for. The assembly instructions are an absolute horror and you're much better off throwing it in the garbage and looking up some good YouTube drum kit assembly videos. The quality is an odd mixed bag and I'm wondering how well certain parts, such as the throne, will hold up. But as stated above; this is a fine CHILD's beginner drum kit. Just don't expect too much.
